Think about an orange, the outer part of a segment holds the entire juice together. So, then what is the outer segment of the fruit of the spirit?

Love, the minute you hear a preacher talking about hate towards anyone/group then you know its not from God. Hate the sin not the sinner. Admonish yes, counsel yes, but not banish.

The first fruit of the Spirit is love.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these.

Why?

1st John 4:7-8 Dear friends, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Whoever loves is a child of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, FOR GOD *IS* LOVE.

What is love?

1st Corinthians 13:4-8a Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail. Love is eternal.

Peace.

I can agree with love but prefer Christ myself. We are taught that false spirits always in some way deny Christ and also its the Spirits work to glorify Christ.
1 John 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
John 16:14
He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

Wow! So many good answers, but I am going to say "Obedience". To obey is better than sacrifice. Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love me keep my Commandments."

Isaiah 1:18,"If you be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good odf the lamb".
