I heard somewhere that all doors are suposed to be pushed upon exit and pulled upon entrance. Unfortunately not all door makers stick to that, so yes it is confusing sometimes!!

Ruby Jane, sums it up pretty well. I pushed on a pull door this
morning. And it had a sign, PULL, Oh well, we are all mere

Yes, especially at strip or outside malls, one store will will have a pull sign and another store will have a push sign.
