This is a scary question actually. When I first saw it, I thought wow.... then I decided to wait to answer it.
I thought about it all day and still can't come up with a good answer.
I think we have to have diversity. The first answer pretty much said it best. This was Hitler's plan. He wanted a Master race. If we did this for people - who would decide? Someone would win and most would lose...
I'm glad that people don't have those standards.
NOW... if we were talking about having to have an education or some sort of class or license before having children that's different. I think that's a great idea.
But I don't want us to focus on having a race of people with the same traits....
If we could focus on having a people born without diseases - that would be different. But sooner or later someone would say that having Blue eyes is the same as having cancer... and outlaw it. =) Someone always has a problem with someone else....
Great question. You should post it in the philosophy section and see what happens. I think you'd get some interesting debate.

Your are cute from your pictures that I have seen. Don't give up on the human race yet, I am sure the is a man out there for you.
A: It would be like its, because look how many mutts there are in the world now. It would be same for humans too.
Just so you know if I truly gave you right answer, I would be kicked off yahoo answers. But lets say there would a lot less dysfunctional people in the world, and maybe no prisons.

The human race would likely be the same... don't forget all the random people who will breed two dogs just because one is a male and the other is a female :P

We would be free of genetic diseases, happier, healthier, stronger, smarter, more compassionate, taller, etc. etc....
That was NOT Hitler's idea; he was racist. The idea of SMART people such as Liz and me is to keep the human race healthier and smarter. My dad thinks it's very stupid to do that and has no backup for his claim! Says everyone has a right to have children, blah blah blah, whether or not they're stupid or sick. No overpopulation.
I also believe humans should marry between races as much as possible; I am determined NOT to marry someone Asian because I think the world would be a nicer place if it was free of racism. If we all looked similar, being racist against someone else would be racist against yourself. Time to break down the barriers, mix races and cultures, and make everyone happy!

we wouldn't have to worry about overpopulation, would the same standards be held for the eating of people like they do animals in other countries as well? China would definitely have much lower population

How sad would that be? I wouldn't be here now in my not so perfect house with my definitely not so perfect husband and not so perfect dogs. That being the case I would have missed so many things that have brought great joy to my life, namely my children, grandchildren, husband, friends and, of course, my animals. So, I'm prepared to live with the fact that I'm a mutt and nothing around me is perfect, but it's good enough for me.

I guess I wouldn't be here. I'm a mutt. Would they have human shelters and pounds? Maybe I would be a lucky one and be in a no kill shelter? Who would adopt me? I guess there wouldn't be any no kill shelters. Wow that is something to think about. Wouldn't that bring back slavery or the likes of? Glad I'm not a dog. I'm of Scottish, Irish and German descents. I am truly a mutt. Second class citizen all the way!!!
