They RUN SEPARATELY.....

Your reciever box is the Cable or Satellite providers HD box, you RENT it.....

Your HD-DVD can use HDMI or Component cables
Your BLU-RAY can use HDMI or Component cables AND
Your Cable box can use HDMI or Component cables....

ALL you need is to determine which ones get the HDMI inputs...and which ones get Component connectors.

TECH-Man said it, but I will phrase it differently.

Just hook the PS3 and BluRay up to the TV and enjoy glorious high def movies.

I have a "HD Ready" Samsung and I have HD-DVD, BluRay, HD-Cable, xBox 360 and cable box all hooked up.

If you want to put up an antenna to get free HD broadcast - then you need a "HD Receiver". These are about $100 from the store, but you also need an antenna.

You don't need a HD receiver to watch blueray/hd movies if you plan on getting a PS3. The HD tuner that is not included in the TV is for HD channels from companies like DirectTV.

gp4rts exchange into appropriate approximately wanting the HD over the air receiver. the only different ingredient is you could purchase the right cables!!! in case you get this field and one coax or composite (yellow, purple, and white) you nonetheless won't get HD you need to hook up ingredient (purple, blue, green video in straightforward terms) or HDMI/DVI (looking on what the field and your television has)
