We love people but not always all the time. How many times have we said. " I could just kill this person for doing this." We don't ultimately act on it but we say it just the same. Dreams are symbolic as opposed to being literal. So perhaps you have a struggle between being happy or angry with your lover. You cannot control what your dream tells you so if you proclaim you love her in waking life you do. This is merely symbolic and not literal. It does not reflect how you feel.

Hard to judge from what you have told us. How did you feel {in your dream} when you shot her? Was it sort of accidental, or did you do it with malice. Maybe you are afraid that you are a bad influence on your gf and your relationship could prove damaging for her. Many men feel, secretly or otherwise, that they are not good enough for their female partners. Do you think this applies to you?

As we go throughout our days, watching tv, hearing crazy stories of murder and love, our brain is taking all of that in. And when we are resting, our brains are trying to sort out what's what. Sometimes dreams can also be a way of releasing some sort of fear that you have and you don't want to deal with it. Just because you have a bad dream doesn't mean you don't love her, unless....."I thought I loved her", sounds a little fishy to me!

You might love her but you might be angry with her. One doesn't rule out the other. Maybe you're threatened about loving her, and this is a way of saying to yourself 'keep your distance.' But you have to be more specific. What were the circumstances of the dream? What was going on? Where were you?

No not weird, I have had a few dreams similar to this but not shooting.
They say a dream depends on why? Who? Your surroundings
how you were feeling about it, sad angry depressed happy. who else is involved.
then they say it has something to do with how you're brain is functioning and which part of the brain it is.
