Wedding RECEPTION in Southern California?
I need reception SITES so badly!!!! We already had our ceremony, now it's time to party. We live in southern Ca. The south Bay, actually, if you are familiar with the area. We are looking at February/March of next year for an affordable (read: $3,000-$6,000-MAYBE slightly more...) reception venue. We want to have our own catering, a dance floor, and that's about it... AFFORDABLE ideas please of WHERE I can do this. Links appreciated. I just really need some help here! :D Would PREFER South Bay and Los Angeles ideas over OC venues due to travel time. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!

i know by the sounds many will think "how hokey for la"
but see if any fire stations have banquet halls. check vfw, moose lodges, elks lodges and shriners temples.
many have realllly nice updates facilities. most have in house catering and bars too if you need help with that too.

i haven't lived in cali since 01 so i'm out of the know of where to go. didn't mean to rhyme lol

I know you said you prefer LA, but I'm in OC, so that's all I have looked at. Here are a couple sites I found that have ideas:

http://www.marcyann.com/weddings.htm

http://www.ocparks.com/privateparties/default.asp?Show=ReceptionsWeddings

The first site is by some lady who apparently does beach weddings, but her site has a lot of links to hotels, etc. The second site is a site for a bunch of parks in Orange County - some parks have buildings you can rent to hold a banquet (I grew up in Riverside, and there is a building at the Citrus Heritage Park there where I happened to see a wedding taking place).

Hope this helps, or gives you some ideas.

Look in Long Beach - there's lots of nice places to have a wedding here. Or San Pedro, etc.

(But I thought it too expensive also and went to Vegas - saved a TON there)
