The gentle movement can give the feeling and also you usually have very little to think about and the mind takes you to those pleasant thoughts. If it is any consolation women also get this way. I have had some very interesting and memorable train journeys because of this.

Apparently there's a phenomenon that soldiers experience when making long trips in trucks or buses to some military action, caused by the vibrations of the moving vehicles, known as "convoy c*ck."
