I looked at it as a full time commitment. There is much to learn - most of it memorization. Being organized and keeping your head in the game - avoiding outside distractions if possible - would be my prescription. It was a fun time. The friends you make in med school and later in internship and residency will be friends for life. It's like sharing a boot camp experience.
Expect long hours if you want to do your best. Good luck.

Suggest you don't go into cancer medicine full time like I did.
Working 24/7 for 4 years of med school is OK. It's OK for five more years in residency and fellowship. But it is not fun for the rest of your life. Pick a specialty where you can have a life. You will have earned it by the time you get into practice.

For the first time in your life, you may find yourself at or below the average. I decided early on that being average or slightly above among brilliant people was OK with me. You may spend 20hours/week outside of class and get an average on the test. It may take another 20 hours to get one standard deviation up. Is that worth it to you? Only you can answer that.

Nobody ever looks back on their life and says "I wish I had spent more time holed up in the library." Keep your life outside of school active.

The most important part is your 3rd year grades.

In my opinion, to be a medical student..U need to learn everything about human body from A-Z. In fact memorization is also important in order to memorize the term or what-so-ever related to medicine. For me, U have to totally understand Anatomy as it is the main subject that will lead u to understand other things like the pathophysiology and other thing.
Apart from that, u need to be logic and be able to think.Dont just like memorize all the thing 100%. Understand, memorize and think..u'll be succeed...
If u have extra IQ....its lucky for u..
Good luck dude

You have to have a lot of PATIENCE for STUDYING HARD
You have to love your anatomy books and show compassion during internship. love for what you are doing
Base from my experience... You really need to have time management and best books within your reach

I know you can do it ;-)
Good luck
