I own a tattoo shop and work there as a tattooist and people look down at me all the time. What some people don't relives is that my shop makes 15 grand a week. And i only open 5 days a week. Some people just don't look at what you have achieved in life they just look at what you wear or the tattoo in your skin and the bars throw your body. If you are tattooed that doesn't mean anything. Don't let what people think hold you back from doing what you want to do.

My husband has probable 20 or extra tattoos and he had maximum of them when I met him, a number of my buddies and kinfolk concept i became loopy because of the fact they only knew that he became difficulty. You ask them why they concept that and that they constantly had a remark approximately his tats. In all fact he's the sweetest, maximum comfortable guy anybody would desire to ever know. I even have countless buddies with tattoos throughout them and that they are extremely good human beings. yet in all fact ignorant human beings make comments on what they see on the exterior and not what's on the interior. It has even gotten no longer ordinary for persons with "showing" tats to get jobs, and to me that's discrimination. Tattoos are in basic terms a sort of paintings and that i've got seen some extremely staggering tattoos.

They are ignorant or jealous. They may even be religious zealots who think that tattoos are sinful. Regardless, it is because they do not understand the addiction of tattoos, or how much the inked population loves them!

first of all --- obviously not everybody looks down on people with tattoos.
some believe it is an art form, whilst others believe that it is a way to illustrate who they really are (names of loved ones, band names etc)

but in the end --- tattoos are a form of body modification and, like peircings, are therefore also regarded as body DISfiguration. To put needles into your skin, and put permanant ink on it tends to generate the notion that people with tattoos do not respect their bodies - or are too self conscious about themselves (which is ironic because i think tattoos draw more attention to the body than away from it!)

anyway --- im tired of typing. tasteful tattoos i like. distasteful tattoos (by my standards) i dont like. but i dont use them as a means to judge a person by.

its like saying you dont like 'sally' because she has brown hair. people just arent used to it i guess. but they should be considering tattoos are an ancient form of art or modification!!!

because they are assocciated with bikers which people for some reason consider them trash ( not me) I am a beautiful woman with an entire sleeve of bright beautiful flowers, and although it is feminine and beautiful I still get bad reactions especially from older women because they think that I should worry about what I am going to look like when i am their age, but by that time in my life I will be more concerned with trying to remember which meds I am suppose to be taking, and trying not to pee in my depends.

some people are just stereotyping us that have them. they are associating us with gangs and crap. they are the ones who have very small minds and refuse to look past the stereotype. me, i am a stay at home housewife with 3 wonderful kids.....does that mean i go out and rob stores or hop on my harley?? no......lol. ppl are stupid when it comes to things...they need to grow up and realize that not everyone with tats are like that.

They're ignorant. They think that people who have tattoos are rebel punks with low IQs. What they don't realize is that people who have tattoos are very discerning, intelligent, independent, and creative. We don't just draw chickenscratch over our bodies. It's a form of art, and there will always be ignorant people who disagree.
