in '05 i was in a car accident and broke both femurs, lost a chunk of my thigh, broke both sides of my pelvic, shattered my right elbow, ruptured my spleen and liver...now at 21 i have arthritis and joint pain i also get migraines, and i still have swelling in my legs...pain killers make me feel hung over and don't get rid of the pain...when i was introduced to pot, i realized it helped with my pain and still help me function, as hard as it is to believe for some of you on your high horse who look down on pot, & most people do, so if you don't have a helpful solution then no thanks to your answers! and don't think i am encouraging pot, to each is own, but i would like to find out if there is any other alternative and if people can let me inn on it, because pot has become too much of a liability for me, and i'm sick of having to just live with my pain! thanks you in advance!

and there you go...i will this once more, your ill defined judgments are not welcomed...and don't sit there and judge when you have not walked even a foot in somebody else's shoes! i don't have to justify f*ck all to anyone...i go to school full time, and work, i have raised my two younger siblings, i walked within 3 months in the hospital after i was told i would be handicapped for 6 months to a year, and i graduated high school on stage even if i had to bust my *** in rehab at the hospital and walk with a quad cane! so if you think me rarely smoking some pot to rid myself of pain for a few hours makes me a looser, then i will make sure to tattoo that on my forehead! :)

Wow. I feel for you. Honestly, there really isn't much you can do. Physical therapy? I don't think that will take the pain away. Have you tried different pain killers? Maybe you can find one that doesn't have such unpleasant side effects. You need to talk to your doctor. I really don't see what other choices you have. Me personally, I'd rather be hung over on pain pills and stoned off some weed that stuck suffering. Whatever you do good luck. My heart goes out to you.

PS: Don't listen to those people talking down to you about smoking weed. I doubt they've ever been in the pain you're in. They are judgmental people, and that's such a negative thing to be. Stay strong.

How about the THC pills instead of pot, this might help with the pain and you won't have to deal with all the politics involved with it. I don't believe this is as hard to get as a presciption to pot either.
Good luck

There are a few other ways to ease pain. Relaxation techniques, apply heat or cold- like a heating pad or an ice bag. Over the counter meds like aleve. Also elevating the limb w the pain may help. Any chance you can go to a pain clinic? Or try a tens unit? it is transcutaneouselectrical nerve stimulation- or try EFT, acupressure and lots of prayer and relaxation. Hope this helps, sorry for your pain. Take care- D

I have lived with chronic pain for 40 years. I find that only a prescription medication helps me deal with the pain so I can have a reasonably normal life. Talk with your doctor about pain relief. There are medications which don't make you feel hung-over.

Maybe you could look into getting a license for medicinal marijuana?

I also heard about this book called Foods that Fight Pain by Dr. Neal Barnard. I'm pretty sure it mentions something about arthritis and definitely migraines it might be work checking out.

I hope you can find a solution.

Mental imagery.. and pressure points. Put on your headphones to music and make your own music videos in your head. It immediately relaxes you and teaches you that you can stop the pain with your brain. Certain pressure points relating to your injuries can be pressed as well and will relieve the pain. Combining the two works well. Migraines especially respond to pressure at the back of the neck.
OTC pain relievers will help manage the agony. Maybe one day Pot will be legalized but I sympathize. Pot has been proven to be exceptional for pain relief. good luck to you.

Try going to a homeopathic physician for some help that will also help to heal your whole body and your emotions
I have recommended this to a lot of people and those who have tried it are very thankful that they did.
It is a long term, permanent solution, rather than being a band-aid solution.
