If you accept Jesus Christ as your savour then you are saved but if you depart from Christ and sin then you are no longer His.
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our instruction (Rom 15:4)
The "things written aforetime," is referring to what was written in the Old Testament. Those things were written so that we in New Testament times would receive instruction.
What are a few things we can learn from the Old Testament?
We need to stand firm in our faith.
If you do not stand firm in your faith, then you will not stand at all (Isaiah 7:9 HCSB)
Those who turn back from following the Lord will be cut off.
I will cut off . . . those who have turned back from following the Lord, (Zeph. 1:4 along with verse 6) NASB
God's patience toward those who "keep on backsliding," is limited
You keep on backsliding. So I will lay hands on you and destroy you; I can no longer show compassion. (Jer. 15:6) NIV
When a righteous man turns from his righteousness, he will die in sin.
When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die ... in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; (Ezek. 3:20)
God does not change
I, Jehovah, change not; Malachi 3:6
The same God of the Old Testament that does not change, is the same God of the New Testament and still does not change.
Now compare the above O.T. verses with the N.T. verses below
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Heb. 13:8)
If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
Heb 3:12 Watch out, brothers, so that there won't be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that departs from the living God.
Heb 3:14 for we are become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end:
some are already turned aside after Satan. (1 Tim 5:15)
Once Saved, Always Saved, is a false gospel and counterfeit grace message built upon partial truths presented as the whole truth, and is nothing more than a theological invention of man to give license to sin.
Now from my heart to you, as it was from Paul's heart to the elders of the church of Ephesus
Acts 20:26 Wherefore I testify unto you this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
Acts 20:27 For I shrank not from declaring unto you the whole counsel of God.
Acts 20:28 Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood.
Acts 20:29 I know that after my departing grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock;
Acts 20:30 and from among your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.
Acts 20:31 Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for three years I did not stop warning each one of you with tears.
And remember what eventually happened to the church at Ephesus?
Rev 2:1 To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:
Rev 2:4 thou didst leave thy first love.
Oh, by the way, "thy first love" in the above verse refers to Christ. Thats right folks they deaprted from Christ both individually and corperately.
this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it! 1 Pet 5:12
Luke 8:13 And those on the rock are they who, when they have heard, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
John 15:6 If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown aside like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ (Gal. 1:6)
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. (Heb 3:12)
Rev 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.

The Bible declares that at the point of belief, we are "sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption" (Ephesians 4:30) At this point, all our sins being past, present and future are viewed by God and forgiven. Ephesians 2:8-9 clearly demonstrates that our works, good or bad, don't figure in God's plan of salvation for man. If our keeping our salvation was dependent on our "being good" then salvation is no longer given on the basis of a free gift. It then becomes grace plus works. What is wrong with people in this day and age? When we are born again, we pass from death into life. John 5:24 states this. We can't become "unborn again" It seems to me that many fail to take the Lord at His word, either He mans what He says or He doesn't! Yea, let God be true and every man a liar!

First, I will tell you what I think than I will establish my belief through the Word of God.
I Believe that we are all creatures of Free Will. In free will we have the ability to live in Christ but we also have the ability to live without him. The is true to individuals who believe in Christ, ask God to forgive them and receive the Holy Spirit. God is not about restricting us but setting us free but we can choose to place the chains of the world back on. If you die before you have the opportunity to repent than, Yes, you would not be given entry into heaven.
Roman's 1:18-32 discuss this very well. I will repeat 28-32 to sum up the conclusion of Paul's message to the Romans.
"Furthermore since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. the have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."
This is just one passage within the New Testament. Galatians 4:8-20, 6:7-10; Hebrews 3:12-14, 6:4-6 are all passage that can be used. Thank you for your question and God Bless.

First of all, the idea that the goal is to "go to heaven" at death is a misrepresentation of Christianity. Resurrection is the true hope. For more information, confer the link I included as my source.
As for whether this person will obtain a resurrection to life or a resurrection to death is up to God. Jesus talks about those who do not "overcome" and are not "saved" and Paul talks about those who sow in the flesh instead of the Spirit and reap corruption. Perhaps this person failed to overcome by not standing in the gospel. On the other hand, Paul describes those who will be saved through fire (though he seems to suggest these are those who are already standing in faith). In the end, only God can decide.
I do not, however, subscribe to the "once saved always saved" doctrine. Paul makes it clear it is possible for one to find himself broken-off from the olive tree to face severity (Rom 11:22).
Lastly, none of us are truly saved until we are spared from wrath and granted immortality, something that is still entirely future.
If you would like to talk about this more with me, feel free to e-mail me.

Yes you would still go to heaven. Once you are saved you can not decide to not be save after accepting Christ the holy spirit is deposited in us until the day comes. I Corinthians 1:22 " set his seal of ownership on us and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit guaranteeing what is to come." It does not then say if you do everything right.

Well that entirely depends what you mean by fall away. So unless u define fall away there is no way anyone could honestly give an answer. Not enough data. But as long as you still believe upon Christ you are saved even though you have sinned. Tell me one person that doesn't . Christians are not perfect, just forgiven.

Once saved, not always saved.
I'd better elaborate on this....
We are saved through faith...Eph.2:8 refers.
However, if any Christian comes to the place where he loses his faith in 'the Only True God, Our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ,' then he also, sadly, loses his salvation...
For the simple reason that only Jesus Christ can save us from our sins.
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12
Therefore, not only those who have backslided to the point of losing their faith in Jesus Christ as their Saviour, but also those who belong to cults (& religions) that deny the deity of Jesus Christ.....will not make it to heaven!

I think if you have truely given your life to Jesus you could not back slide so maybe you were not truely saved in the first place. many will say Lord Lord and Jesus said he will tell them he did not know them.

Eph:2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
We are not literally reborn until we die.
What we have now we have by faith.
It is by faith we say we are made new.
He who endures to the end is truly saved.
