JOHN WAS THE END OF THE PROPHETS HE WAS BEFORE JESUS

Luke 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. 16:17 And it is
easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

Luke 7:24
And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind? 7:25 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts. 7:26 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet. 7:27 This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. 7:28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
John died before Pentecost and the heavenly anointing of apostles for the last days down to the time of the end that Satan will be cast down under their feet Rom.16:20; As that prepares a place for them to be raised up to Jesus.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD MESSAGE IS AFTER JESUS FROM HIS HEAVENLY

The kingdom of God is for the last days, down to the time of the end, so we do not have the bible long in the last days until we are in the time of the end with Satan as Michael of Jude 9; At Dan.12:1-13 [ the time of the end ]; in Rev,12:3,4,6-11,12; The Word, Satan's short tine in the time of the end.

THE SOWER OF THE SEED THAT THE WORD OF THE KINGDOM

Matt.24:3 [ end of world ], 7 [ major wars as WW1, WW2 and time after so we know that is not the end ], 14 [ the gospel of the kingdom to the whole world ],
15 [ the time of the end prophecy of Daniel and the only holy place to stand in in the word as Satan is in the world ], 21:22,34-39 [ for the world ].

Matt.13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

John Doubted despite him seeing the Heaven's Open and the Holy Spirit descend Upon Jesus in the Form of a Dove. Remember When John the Baptist was in prison, he sent disciples to ask Jesus: “Are you the Coming One, or are we to expect a different one?” ( Matt 11:3)

Hi there, here we go...

No Jesus was not a follower of John the Baptist. John the Baptist was an appointed messenger.

Baptism of Jesus by John - Story Summary:
John the Baptist was God's appointed messenger. Before Jesus began his ministry, John had been announcing to the people throughout the regions of Jerusalem and Judea to prepare for the coming Messiah. He was calling them to repent, turn from their sins, and be baptized. He was pointing the way to Jesus. Then, all of a sudden, Jesus appeared on the scene. Jesus came to John to be baptized, but John told him, "I need to be baptized by you." John himself wondered why Jesus asked to be baptized.

So Jesus replied, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." John then consented and baptized Jesus. As Jesus came up out of the water, heaven opened, and the Spirit of God, like a dove, descended upon him. Witnesses to the baptism heard a voice from heaven saying, "This is my son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."

Take care

Most historians seem to suggest it is the most likely Jesus was a follower of John and eventually broke away. The Bible portrays John as inferior to Jesus probably to debunk criticism of Jesus and persuade John's followers of Jesus' Messiahship. Perhaps neither Jesus was a follower of John or John a follower of Jesus. Of course, we cannot be sure.

John was the son of a priest, six months Jesus' senior, and the forerunner, so Jesus was technically, a follower of John.

Meanwhile, Jesus was keeping a low profile in Nazareth, waiting for his time to come.

It was the Baptist who garnered all the attention when he was born, due to his priestly father Zachary's deaf and dumb spell, and it was John, the priest's son, who the Jewish people looked to and followed, as he grew older.

Perhaps that's why Jesus chose to honor John by presenting himself to him for baptism, and perhaps that's why it was necessary for John to die, just as Jesus began his public life.

That way there would be no confusion, and no rival groups, working against each other.

Just good vs. evil.

I think this is a great question :)

I am writing this from memory, so no scriptures to back me up, but from what I remember they were cousins and neither one followed the other as it were. Both were instruments in God's plan and both were sacrificed in that plan. I think of John more as a mentor/teacher for Jesus rather than a leader.

do I make sense????

It says in the gospels that John the disciple was listening to John the baptist, and then when Christ returned from the fasting in the desert John became a disciple of Jesus.

Edit: I'm sorry I misunderstood the question. I can't articulate myself well tonight.

Jesus asked John to baptize him, but John declared Jesus to be much greater than himself.

John 1:
[29] The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
[30] This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
[31] And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
[32] And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
[33] And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
[34] And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Here, the nature of the Trinity, and Jesus's role as son are mentioned.

John already had his own specific ministry making waiting the way for Jesus. John knew Jesus replaced into specific and despatched from God, even nonetheless he had his 2nd of doubt while he confronted loss of life. i think of he replaced into rather doubting that what he have been doing replaced into valid, yet then found out he have been doing the main appropriate element. Jesus' closest disciples have been chosen from men of all walks of life, who have been familiar with John's teachings and have been "arranged" for the Messiah. Jesus' request to have John baptize him placed John in a definite place previous his disciples, who would shop on his message into the destiny.

John the Baptist the follower of Jesus

Joh 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
Joh 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
Joh 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
Joh 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Joh 1:15 John bare witness of Him, and cried, saying, This was He of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for He was before me.
Joh 1:16 And of His fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
Joh 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Joh 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Joh 1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
Joh 1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
Joh 1:27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 1 refers to the word (Jesus) as God.
Wouldn't John be a follower of God not God a follower of John's?

Mat 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

John 1:

1 aIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was alife; and the life was the blight of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true aLight, which blighteth cevery man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
