To AdoreHim: I never said I didn't want your opinion, I just don't need to hear about how Christianity is the only real religion and how the rest of us are going to go to hell if we don't believe etc etc... Now don't get me wrong I have lots of friends who are christians, just not the shove it in your face kind.

Edit: Religion is inherited. If the environment around you hadnt prepared you for (a religion) you wouldnt be (that religion). If you had no knowledge of (a religion) there you would never become (that religion).

Yes wikipedia is wise.

it never ceases to amaze me that people ask us a question and does not want to hear our answer. As a Christian I have to answer from a biblical point of view- otherwise I would not be true to what my God teaches and wants from us.

I believe that religion is man's attempt to find God, while Christianity is God reaching down to man in Christ.

I believe that "religion" is more complicated than one definition. I can buy this definition as a part of the overall picture, but all by itself it seems like just one, anthropological piece of the puzzle.

Let me simplify it for you! Religion is mans way of reaching up to God and trying to put things right by his own efforts. Christianity is the Lord bringing salvation down to man and making things right.

I think it is fairly accurate man made traditions but that is not what God wants he wants us to know him and give our lives to him.
