Is the computer an intelligent design or is it programed to do its things and all using it has to comply?

The computer is an example of intelligent design. It took someone with intelligence to design it. And anyone who has tried to get their computer to do something and it would not function or it did something else knows that computers don't always simply comply. They should, because that is what they are desinged to do, but they don't. although they also don't arbitrarily refuse to function. Still, it sounds a lot like people.

Yes, all of God's creations are examples of intelligent design. consider the O/CO2 exchange: basically, oxygen enters the bloodstream (via the red blood cells) when we inhale, is then carried throughout the body, is exchanged for carbon dioxide, which is released from the body when we exhale**. Such an intricate and vital operation, that occurs millions of times a day. And that is just one tiny facet of the activities that made man 'a living soul' (Genesis 2:7, KJV). If one function stops, or mis/malfunctions, the body has a problem.

**To take the intelligent design thought (regarding the O/CO2 exchange) a bit further: We exhale carbon dioxide, which is necessary in order for 'plants' (trees, flowers, grass, etc.) to live, and 'plants' release oxygen, which is necessary for us to live.

Instinct is something that a human being or other creature does without thought or effort. something that occurs 'naturally'. We breathe instinctively, we swallow instinctively. We scratch instinctively.

(Definition 2. I am referring to 'tendency') Instinct is also something similar to habit: I instinctively slide on my slippers when I get out of bed. that is, I don't have to get up, and make sure my shoes are where I need them to be before I put my feet into them. My feet sort of just go straight to my shoes.

(Definition 4.) Having 'a feeling' about something. I had an instinct that something was amiss before I walked into the house. (It's not the best example I could come up with--in fact, it's pretty bad, but it's all I have at the moment.)

A guy on here answered, "Intelligent design is just creationism renamed". He is perfectly correct. They are the same thing. The difference is that one has more religious or spiritual gravity than the other. Intelligent design is just the sterile idea that life, (or other features of this universe) had to be designed by an intelligent agent. People reach this conclusion for very scientific reasons. Now people will say that you cannot do that and still be scientific. However those same people do not have a problem with the Oort Cloud or Dark Matter. Both of those things were proposed, and accepted to great degree, simply because the phenomena that was observed demanded that there was something else unknown in operation. The scientist used their thinking and logic and came up with these specific things to solve a different scientific dilemma. My problem with those two examples is that they are specific items that where proposed with no observational data where as intelligent design is a very generic answer to a set of problems. Intelligent design argument does not propose ANY special designer. It should not, scientifically, even propose a single designer. There is not any proposition to any attributes to any creator other than that, based on all scientific knowledge involving design, information, information technology, and natural laws and forced, there has to be one. So in affect you have a very very safe and sterile creator. And that is all science really could do, without scientific experiments that confirm which creator or "its" attributes. But at this time there is not any of that scientifically detailed. So in these senses, Intelligent Design is the same as the generic word, "Creationism". But, there are a lot of creationists who go deeper in meaning and definition. I for one do. I am a biblical creationist. I commend you on your open mind to look into creation and that fact that you can see the wholes in Darwinian Evolution. Often the "offical science" is impossible to get your mind out of, but once you do you will see that there is a lot more to reality that is described by Darwinian Evolution. But I would recommend looking into Biblical Creation. I highly recommend the book, "In the Beginning" by Walt Brown. I think that there is scientific evidence to support Biblical Creation, that I don't have room to get into here, but the Flood of Noah is the biggest piece of evidence that leads me to really believe that the biblical account is accurate. If you haven't studied it, it will be hard to image. But, read that book and others involving Noah's flood (not everything is contained in even the best man made book) and see what you think! I was an evolutionist/atheist for 28 years. I thought I knew some things! But after I learned about God and our creation the entire world of knowledge has opened up to me. Think about all the implication of being created by God!! There are moral consequences and lots of philosophies in logic involving non-material entities like morals and emotions that come into the argument. According to Darwinian Evolution our morals and emotions are just chemical reaction with no real consequence especially on dictating future behavior. Because of this, this world has moved into an age of Relativism. It is exciting to learn all the philosophy and logical arguments pertaining to these topics. And there is so much more. If you like to study, I think that you are really in for an exciting time. These atheists on here make all these stupid comments about how Christians are dumb and gullible but the truth is that they have no idea what they are talking about. A whole new world of thought and study has just opened up to you. The atheists on here are still stuck in a world of making worthless comments that resemble a couple of 12 year olds making stupid Napoleon Dynamite jokes.

It depends how you want to approach it. Yes, it is possible to view a computer as a complex machine designed and created by a single human, but it's a bit misleading. A human being did not create a computer by himself. It is the result of our ENTIRE history as a human species.

Does it make sense to treat our human species as an intelligent being? I doubt it. It is more of a process rather than a being. If you accept that, it suddenly stops making sense that a computer is an intelligent product, but rather a simple byproduct of human culture. A bit more complex than a pile of excrements, yes, but still only a byproduct.

Their young are mircobytes. The computers live in large extended families called networks, and their diet in the wild consists of information. Their digestion of the hard and crusty information packets is aided by thousands of microprocessors which are housed in the inner facia of the intestine.

The traveler is warned to be wary of wild computers as they are known harbrigers of viruses, the most virulent of which is the SPAM virus. Do not feed wild computers.

Computers are dumb, they only know what you tell them. They have no intrinsic ability to solve problems creatively.

Computers don't have free will to disobey.

However...since Microsoft operating systems and apps seem to have a mind of their own, and don't always cooperate the way they are designed, you might say MS is the tool of Satan, the evil one.
