Isn't it sort of a catch-22 that they did something evil before they even knew what "good and evil" was?

Of course God warned them, but how were they supposed to know that dying was a 'bad' thing? And how were they supposed to know it was wrong to disobey God? Wouldn't they need to know the difference between "good and evil" first, before being capable of doing something evil? Before they sinned, ignorance was bliss!

they could not have sinned by eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, because they did not know the difference until they ate from said tree. they could not have intentionally done something bad because they were ignorant of evil.

therefore, either original sin is a lie, or god is evil for punishing them. it would be like spanking a one year old for eating medicine that you left in plain sight

Yes Adam and Eve did know the right and the wrong before they sinned because God had explained those to them. They did something evil because they were tempted by iblis, the cruel jin or satan.God spoke that they could not take and eat the kholdi fruit. But iblis whispered to them that if they take and eat it they will be foreever live in heaven.

NO ! They were warned.
They were warned by God not to eat or even touch the tree of knowledge (good & evil).
They disobeyed God and paid a heavy price. Being driven out of the garden of Eden,a place of perfection.

Yah well, that's the bible in a nutshell, full of contradictions. LMAO for those saying that satan the snake called god a liar but Adam & Eve soon found out that the snake was the liar. BS! God said to A&E that they would die if they ate from the fruit, they didn't die did they? Whilst the snake said that they will gain knowledge if they eat the fruit, which they did. So now who is the liar? ;P

Yes they did know that what God commanded was right and to go outside of it was wrong. It was Satan who purported the idea that they could know as much as God and thus choose for themselves what was right and wrong, rather than yielding to the will of God. (Genesis 3)

God said not to do something, they did the opposite, that was wrong. And yes, they knew, God told them.

Yes, god used to rub their noses in their poop to potty train them. It only took a couple times before they stopped crapping in the garden.

They didn't know it was evil until after they ate the fruit. They just knew something would happen. They got lied to and thought it would be beneficial.

Genesis 2:15-17
"And Jehovah God proceeded to take the man and settle him in the garden of E′den to cultivate it and to take care of it. 16 And Jehovah God also laid this command upon the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. 17 But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.”

They knew what they were and were not aloud to do beforehand.
