I went on a Paltalk Christian chat room, the people in there were very ignorant. They fully on said to me that I have to be born-again to get to heaven and all, they said I'm going to hell for not being one. I don't want to be one, no really.

I'm a Non-Denominational Christian. Don't get me wrong, I believe in Jesus, I read the bible etc and etc. But I will NEVER become a born-again Christian, though I don't even know what it is (some form of Protestantism?).

So Christians, does that mean I'm going to hell for not joining your "group" or not being born-again?

As much as I know is if your a Christian you are already born again and are born into the kingdom of God. I think maybe these people are Charismatics or similar who say you need to be talking in some unknown tongue to be saved but how do they really know what they saying and maybe they are talking to the devil or evil spirits and the devil will deceive anyone he can. I would say if your a Christian you are already saved and works do not save but we are saved by GRACE. God bless you and may you continue living as a Christian and so that we can meet at the feet of Him who died for us

Well, I'm Catholic, and I would consider myself also "born again", since it is a part of our faith as well. We call it "Pentecost" when the paraclete descends upon the apostles and believers.

I think a person has to be prepared, somewhat for that experience. There is none like it upon the face of this planet, and beforehand, a revulsion for it, like bad medicine you have to take for what ails you. Once you have it, you realize to what depths you must go to recieve it, and that not everyone fully understands this.

It is not unlike entering a realm to which you thought you knew something, but it was not. Sometime, like a level in Mortal Kombat, where you are punched up to the next level. And it doesn't end there. Depending upon what you give to God, in return, your role will be what He says. He will not push you into something you do not want to do, and He will not leave you without strength that only He can give.

the Mystery of the Most Holy Eucharist is an awesome thing. Begin by asking questions, end with drawing your line in the dirt.

It has nothing to do w/th e joining of a group. as Jesus told NIcodemus who came to him by night. "you must be born again'', is not a religon or an excersize.

when you were born the 1st time, you were born of water, my mothers water sack that you were in had to burst, & thus - came you. the birth of water.

the 2nd birth, when you trust in Jesus, you are born of the spirit, , not flesh as the 1st time. it's believing inJesus . being trusting in Him by faith. that is being born again. Trust me, if you know Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit in you, & you have been born again. though yu may not have been familiar with the terminology. Hurray! That's what it is, you dont "have' to join anything.

It does help to be around other believers though, & i think that's why God tells us in the book of Hebrews "not forsaking th e assembling of ourselves together" cause we all need encouragement of each other.

Just as i hope this is an encouragement to you. No you're not going to hell, &stay out of them chat rooms if they're that way. Get on board here, I have some great contacts, check them out ,you may want some of them.

God bless You my friend &I'll look for you "on th e other side."

The status of being born-again is not found in a particular group. When Jesus said that only those who are born again will see the kingdom of heaven, He is referring to the people who enters into a personal relationship with Him, that is to say-people who placed theri faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. The act of reading the bible nor going to church or whatever good deeds will never be a means to be saved. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ can one person be saved and when that happens then he is essentially born-again, in the sight of God. The term is only confusing because there are religious groups now that refer to themselves as born-again Christians and a lot of people tend to think that they can be born-again by joining such groups. This is not true. Salvation is never found in religion, it is only in Jesus Christ.

If you are a Christian you are already born again. It refers to Jesus' discussion with Nicodemas in John 3.

Verse 5 says:

"5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is fflesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Note that the words for spirit and wind are similar in Greek (pnem- as in pnemonia)

If you repent and accept Jesus as your savior you are given the Holy Spirit and are thus "born again" and "dead to sin" (For "dead to sin" see Romans 6, 8:10, Ephessians 2:1,5, Colossians 2:13, 1 Peter 2:24). This is why baptism is a symbolic death.

It's not really about joining a group. It's about being made new by God's Spirit and being born into the family of God. Jesus spoke about being "born again" in John 3, where these famous verses, John 3:16-17, are located:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:13-14)

The trinity isn't a Catholic difficulty in any respect, it is an factor to almost each and every Christian denomonation. Being 'born returned' is a extra undemanding term between protestants. And in basic terms a word to the guy who suggested the King James Bible, i'm unsure the place you're getting your information from yet that version is turning out to be to be much less and much less undemanding, maximum church homes these days use the NIV, and as for swearing on it, no you possibly can truthfully swear on a Bible because of the fact the Bible itself says to no longer swear on something, "enable your sure be sure and your no be no".

To be born again is taken from John 3:5; '... Jesus answered, 'truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.'
If you believe that Jesus Christ is God, that he resurrected from the dead (and is therefore alive today) and was born of a virgin (indicating his sinless nature) - then you must have the Spirit of Christ within you to believe this.
Romans 8:9; '... however, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.’

You say you believe in Jesus and read the Bible.

Then do you believe what Jesus says?

John 3:5-7 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’

John 3:1-8

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him." In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is BORN AGAIN." "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be BORN AGAIN.'
