There are lots of different things to consider when picking colors. Here are some possible questions to ask yourself:

-- What kind of flowers do you want? Do they only come in certain colors?
-- What colors do your bridesmaids look good/bad in?
-- Where are you having your wedding? What colors are the carpet, pews, walls, etc? What won't clash with those?
-- What level of formality do you want for your wedding? (Certain colors are traditionally associated with more formal or evening affairs. Others are associated with more casual or daytime weddings)
-- What colors or color combinations look good to you and your fiance? Are there any you are attracted to when flipping through magazines?
-- Do you want your wedding colors to fit the season (oranges, reds, browns, and golds for fall; reds, greens, blues, or silvers for winter; pastels for spring; blues, greens, yellows or pinks for summer)? Season is an important consideration when thinking about what flowers will be available.
-- Do you want a color palette that is hot and trendy right now, but might look dated in ten years? Or do you want something that won't look as dated but that you've already seen in a million other weddings?

Of course, you should never feel tied down by any color traditions. If you want to use black for a daytime spring wedding, for example, you certainly can! These questions may provide you with some direction to get you thinking. You have plenty of time. (And I do think pink is a beautiful wedding color... perfectly appropriate for June!)

Ultimately, if you've got a favorite color, go with your first instinct. If you love pink, you've got plenty of options within the different tonal values of the color -- lighter, subtle tones that are more creamy or peachy would be appropriate for a spring/summer wedding and deeper shades of pink, even a jewel-toned magenta with a bit of burgundy would be dramatic for a winter/fall wedding. You should probably think about picking a secondary color with your primary, so that you don't feel pressured to make everything the same color -- especially pink. Don't want it to be a ceremony awash in Pepto Bismol! Pick a neutral like an off-white cream that gives a lot of options for all its applications. Whatever shade of pink you go with, make sure it's something flattering and wearable -- bubblegum pink looks so Barbie and just makes everything look like a girl's baby shower. To keep it from overtaking the color scheme, use your primary color choice sparingly so that it maintains its importance and doesn't overwhelm the guests. I think it's just a smarter look to paint a wedding with an understated palette and it makes the color choice that much more interesting when your guests aren't anticipating where they'll see it in the decoration and overall theme of the wedding.

Either is fine. It's your day, do it your way! You will look back on those memories for a very long time. Don't let anyone or anything dictate how you do your special day. It's all up to you and should be exactly what you want. Btw, pink for a June wedding fits in with the season too! Have a spectacular day!
Best wishes!

a million. Virginia [i'm a July infant] 2. Anna[No lipstick, hey some thing cool, for the female I have been given #7 then #13, that's my birthday, 13 July :)] 3. Frank [different - I wanna flow to Sweden] 4. Harold [Multi animals-In my new domicile we've a cat, a canines, and a pair of birds] Virginia and Anna i'm not prepared on, however the nickname Ginny is cute. Frank is oddly handsome so i like it, and Harold isn't some thing i'd use, regardless of the shown fact that it has a nerdy, previous type allure i can not clarify.

I used the colors WE liked. Right now, we're planning for fall. Typically fall is reds, oranges, and autumy colors. Well... he doenst like red, so i didnt pick red. he LOVES blue, its one of my favorites too... so we're tryin to use a shade of blue.

I say sit down with your man, and talk about his favorite colors and yours. I'm sure a compromise can be met. Many brides forget the wedding isnt the brides day.... its the COUPLES day. so let the COUPLE pick the colors. Dont feel restricted by season, area, or whatever. If you wanna have a tropical wedding with black bridesmaid dresses... power to ya!!

We didn't choose colours until we went shopping for the bridesmaid dresses. Turns out they chose a lovely print summer dress - it was for a July wedding - so our colours were pink, yellow, lilac, and light teal.
With your wedding being SO far away, don't plan anything til a year before the wedding.
Or move the date closer!!!

You still have years to think about it. Look through different wedding websites and magazines but don't make a decision till 2009. You might change your mind about the color by then. Either way go with what you like.

I chose the colors I loved. Who cares about the season! I had red/silver in May & yanno what it looked amazing! The red roses in the garend and bouqets looked incrdible! That season thing is silly. It's your day do what you want.

I don't think you should be tied by season, that is so limiting. When my husband and I started planning we discussed colours and he said he was happy with any colour other than really feminine ones so we settled on blue (my favourite and suits him very nicely) and had cream as the complimenting colour.

You can pick your colors by season or what colors you and your soon to be spouse like. No real rule on these one.

Have fun and good luck and congrats
