Start talking to him first. It's only after you both chat a lil here and there everytime, that he'd get a bit familiar with you, and then u can think of the next step. Right now, perhaps he is still only being courteous. And who knows, he might be dating someone already? Best is to start a conversation with him about the kid....then gradually, as u get familiar, ask him about himself, what he does etc. Let him ask u questions too. But don't start any topic of going out etc. until u r both a bit more familiar with each other. All the best!

Ask him out. So what if it's your job...it's not a workplace thing(he does not work there).

Sure whoever is in charge of the daycare does not want you to date parents....but that is kinda silly and selfish on their part. They tell you what to do at work, not your whole life.

If you feel you have to, just meet him outside of the daycare. Go there on your day off at the time you know he will be there and bump into him in the parking lot. Or if you find out he will be at the petting zoo on Sat....you go there too.

And watch the movie 'Must love Dogs' :)

I think you should go for it!

Hint up that your available as well (be a little obvious), then wait til he asks you out. If you make the first move and he disagrees, it can make things uncomfortable and the eye-candy could never come back.

When and if he does make the first move, keep it on the down low for a while; other parents and staff members can accuse you of giving his child more attention only because you are dating him.

Keep your fingers crossed and keep in mind that you shouldn't find love where you make money
