Because Muslims actually want to preserve what the Qur'an says and not lose any of its meaning in translation.

The Qur'an is and has been available in several different languages for many years.
The original Bible was first produced in Latin and was not available for the ordinary people to read.
It was several hundred years before the Bible became available for the use of the common people as it was only allowed to be used by members of the clergy, holy orders and royalty.
English editions of the Qu'ran and translations into most European languages are freely available and it is also produced in Indonesian,Korean and several other languages.
According to wikipedia it is available in at least 10 languages.
As Islam grows I am sure that the number of languages it is available will increase. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world with around 500 reversions in America alone everyday.
Salaam

A fantastic answer from Yahweh. Actually, when the Holy Quran is translated even in English, some of the verses seem contradictory.
However, the Quran is available in my language: Bengali, so I
assume the Quran is also available in most other languages of the world.

I think here Cristians are doing alot of work for thoer religion. No doubt. We Musloims must learn this aspect, and stribe harder in God's way. But, I dont think one ca blame God for the falacies of humans.
ANd despite there being more languages the bible is available in, Islam is STILL the fastest growing religion.
I think this speaks volumes about the religion!

Dear Jenny Yes Qur'an was given by Allah the only one God in arabic language because at that time (jahiliyyah era) jahiliyyah people had bad behaviour. and arabic languge is a rich language..God wanted to make them had a good way of life.So God gave the Qur'an as life guide in the arabic language.God appointed Muhammad pbuh to spreaa out Islam without force.God instructed us in the Qur'an to read this nature and books. So we should learn some languages not only arabic. and learn also some knowlwdges since we are young up to we want to die..God spoke in the Qur'an that God will always maintain the genuity of Qur'an.So it is the obligation of human to translate the Qur'an into all languages in this world. We need it to understand its meaning in our own language.Muslim sholars have this obligation for translating the Qur'an into your own language.. What is your own language ? Salam for you may God bless you.

It seems that you understand English. Why not read it in English?
Islam can be summarized in seven sentences:
1. Believe and trust in One and Only God.
2. Do not associate partners in God's divinity.
3. Believe in all prophets: Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus Muhammad.
4. Believe in the Day of Judgment.
5. Pray, fast, pay charity, and go on a pilgrimage if you can afford it.
6. Do good and shun evil.
7.Treat others as you would have them treat you.

The Quran has been translated into different languages so people can understand it but the translations are not God's true word. Only the ARABIC is God's true word.

thanks for good question
first of all, you are right that bible has translations available in more than 2000 languages unlike quran. but how does that establish that bible is true and quran is false... certainly not.........secondly, its the duty of the muslims to spread the message of God. its the duty of us to translate it in several languages....
"Invite to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preachings, and argue with them in a way that are best and most gracious" (QURAN 16:125)
you can't blame God for the laziness of the muslim,
if God wants to give guidance to anybody , he can give it anyway,,,
