Really, everyone who respects and obeys Jesus Christ goes from door to door to teach his neighbors about the Bible's good news. It is interesting that only Jehovah's Witnesses are so clearly identified with the preaching work; globally more than 6 million preach publicly each month.

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.

(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.

(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house

It's sad when someone who claims to respect the bible actually insults or even advocates attacking a peaceful preacher. Sad but completely expected.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Really, if someone goes out of their way to disregard Christian preachers and preaching, what is he saying about himself?

(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos... “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

First off, we DO NOT sell our magazines "The Watchtower" and "Awake!".

We go from house to house out of LOVE for God and in harmony with what JESUS himself told his followers to do.

A lot of people have problems with our preaching work simply because they're territorial, private, happy with their own beliefs, busy or unwell. We try to take all of that into consideration and not overstay our welcome (when we are welcome). When people want us to leave, we do.
It doesn't bother me when people turn me away (rudely)- because it's not really me they're rejecting. And if they're busy or unwell etc, I politely hand them a tract and say I'll call back another time if they'd like.

Before I became a Witness, I was visiting with friends one day and the Witnesses happened to stop by. My friends husband answered the door, then fell to floor pretending to be possessed and making a real fool and jerk out of himself.
When the Witnesses left, I ran after them to apologize for his conduct. They hadn't thought a thing about it...
My brother-in-law told me he once answered his door naked. He invited the Sisters in and they made him lunch when they heard how sick he was (he was waiting on a kidney transplant and didn't want to be bothered and thought answering naked would be a quick way of getting rid of them lol)
We're not easily scared off :D

As others have mentioned, just ask to be placed on our "Do not call list" and you wont be bothered any more except once a year or so when the Elders see if the person has moved or changed their mind.

I have no problem or argument with Jehovah's Witnesses. I'm always friendly and kind when they come around. I admire their demonstration of faith and the good works that they engage in for others. If it is a hot day, I invite them in for a drink.

Their mission is to spread what they believe to be a more accurate interpretation of the scriptures and to warn people that Christ will return at some point in the future. They believe that we should all prepare ourselves spiritually for that event. In some respects, they have done a great job in attempting to clarify what may have been erroneous translations early on in the compilation of what we now have as scripture.

I share with them that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and we typically part in a friendly manner shortly after that. I respect them and always wish them well.

The ignorance of some people amazes me. The fact that some people believe everything they read on the internet amazes me even more. If you want to know the REAL beliefs and teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses, visit the official website at www.watchtower.org.

They believe we are in our last days and consider it as their mission to safe as many as they can. I have two elderly ladies checking in on me all the time. One of them walks with a cane and I had to steady her before. We usually chat a little bit and they leave me the watchtower and awake. Both free and some of them have actually pretty good articles in them. Such I'm not religious myself I admire their devoting, even if it is something senseless in my eyes. But never have they come across as harassing or trying to put their religion down my throat.

OK alright here's the thing. We do NOT believe in a fiery place called "hell." We are not trying to work our way into heaven. We aren't getting brownie points. look up Matthew 24:14! it tells us right their our assignment and it is our obligation to tell people of the good news. The Watchtower and Awake are FREEEEEEE BIBLE STUDY AIDS! they aren't replacing your Bible. They help you. We do it because Jesus commanded us to. What did Jesus do while on the Earth? He told people of his father's kingdom that was to come. HE PREACHED!!!!!! Jesus told us plainly in the Bible to preach and to teach.
BTW we AREN'T solicitors. So a "NO SOLICITING" sign doesn't bother us. We aren't selling anything.

Perhaps if you Open Up your Door and Engage them In a Conversation you Might Learn something.
Remember the Apostle Paul Spoke of People who felt that they had all they needed.. He said " Always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth ( 2 Tim 3:7)

They knock on your door to introduce to you the word of GOD. Honestly to me that's a good sign of the LOVE for the LORD...But I am not going to be walking from house to house in the sun. Sometimes I ignore them.
