You'll have to check the website of the airline you're flying on, not all airlines offer online check-in and many do not allow you to print your boarding pass. Some airlines allow you to check-in online, but will print the boarding pass at a kiosk at the airport. One airline that I fly with only allows members of their frequent flyer program to check-in online. Check with your airline's website, if you able to check-in online, there will be information and procedures regarding online check-in.

If you have a smart phone, an app would make it simpler; you wont lose it. You can download an app for your boarding pass it is scan able at the gates. It will ask for your name or last name and your flight confirmation. If you are flying alone it is perfect, as it is only one is acceptable per person. There are also "KIOSKS" available in the entries of the airports and near the gates where you will be able to print out your boarding pass. Otherwise, you may be able to ask at an information desk. That is also helpful if for some reason you loose your boarding pass. The airport allows you to "check in" 24 hours before your flight, and not any time sooner. This is basically like an RSVP to make sure you are still planning to make your trip.

It wholly depends on the airline - for BA yes, for Continental yes, for bmi yes but for charters no, flyglobespan no etc
Check your airline's website and see if they offer a check-in onine service.
Please note some airlines will permit you to choose your seat but not print your boarding pass online. Others both. Some neither.
Have a nice trip :)

Maybe.
Depends on your country, and the airlines own rules.
I've had no problem checking in online for International flights on a couple of occasions in the recent past, but some others didn't let me.

No,, they probly never will let you print the boarding tickets at your own home... Why??? Because when you print out them tickets at the kiosks, it is the only way for the Airline industry to know that you're already @ the airport and ready to fly out.
I hope this helps out... Godspeed on your trip.

Not for international trips as the airline ticket counter has to check your passport/visa for your destination before you can proceed to security.
