After two years, your toe has pretty much healed, whether properly or not. About the only recourse you have now is to have your doctor rebreak your toe, reset it, and hope that the toe heals to your satisfaction.

When a toe is broken it takes about a year to heal. And it will never be the same again as a layer of bone thickens it. I broke mine 15 years ago and still can't bend it. Having said that, it causes me no grief.

I have stubbed and broken the same little toe twice and it gives me no pain or looks any different. My big toe was broken and looks slightly different from it's counterpart, but no big deal. They are all small digits on my appendages and so I don't worry about it. If it gives you pain from wearing your shoes you may want to see a podiatrist who would advise you if the toe needs surgery.

I would suggest either going to a drug store and buying a splint, or taking a flat object and lining both sides and taping it, as a makeshift splint.

Also, use ice to reduce swelling, and heat to mend the bone.

And keep it elevated above your heart.

they usually don't go back to being normal because it is such a small bone..probably not much you could of done about it to change the outcome.
