I know someone who admitted to routinely doing marijuana around his kids. His wife knows that he uses drugs, but I don't know if she knows that he uses around the children. I am thinking about reporting this, but only if it will be taken seriously by the child protective agency. Is it routine for this agency to remove the kids from the home or at least order a drug test or search of the home if this is reported?

To every person who thinks that nothing should be done, because it's none of the poster's business, if this was not a public issue, then our government would not fund hotlines for citizens to give tips about child abuse and neglect. Where do you think they get child abuse case information from? Not from people like you who live by the 'no snitching' rule. People like you are not 'keeping it real,' you're just COWARDS. You would honestly let a child be abused or neglected because it's 'none of your business'? You people are pathetic.

And, who are you to guage what crimes are more serious than someone smoking *illegal* drugs around children? It's illegal. That's the bottom line.

They would have to conduct an investigation, but yes, this will be taken seriously.

Doing drugs is illegal, and doing them around kids could bring more charges like child endangerment, negligence, etc

I called the police and reported crack users who have children as well.
Nothing was done.

In some states, you get a large fine for each kid, for child endangerment, besides losing the kids.

what about their mom???
I think you are putting your nose in where it doesn't belong, you sound like a ad on t.v or a 7th heaven re-run. Talk to the mom before you go off and do anything.
Are you smoking with him? I bet that's how you know
