I am currently thinking of moving from Rhode Island to the Fort Myers area in Florida. I'm selling my home for $369,900 and my property tax this year was $6,734. I would like to find a home in Cape Coral or Lehigh Acres for a little under $300,000. What should I expect for property tax in Florida compared to Rhode Island?

Yeah, the clarification for which you're merely right here for the iciness and not for the entire 365 days like people who're florida citizens. Why could you adult adult males get the comparable perks for a 2nd residing house and easily stay there 0.5 the 365 days and then stress around city as sluggish as a risk on an identical time as people who stay right here all 365 days around are attempting to bypass to artwork yet are caught in site visitors by using fact of all you snowbirds!

States without an income tax such as FL, TX, and NH tend to have very high property taxes. I wouldn't be surprised to see property taxes double what you are paying in RI. That would be the case in TX, based upon personal experience and FL is little different from TX on that score.
