If so what can I do to keep any points off my license?

Yes, they can. You don't have standing or an ability to object to where the Officer was sitting.

Where the officer was when he saw you speeding is no issue. Legally, it does not change the fact you were caught speeding. The officer might have just cleared a call at that residence.

if the driveway is marked as private no.
if unmarked and presumed to be state property yes.
a drive way and sidewalk are state, county or city property.
