It is the center of consciousness. From that 3lbs of neurons and grey matter arises all thoughts, intentions, and ego.

No. The Brain in part of the flesh needed to keep it alive. The soul is the will emotions and mind of the person

It is taught that we all have a Spirit, a Soul and a body.
The brain is part of the body as you well know.
Your mind is of the spirit interface with the brain.
