No, and answers like the one from Taimur prove just how desperate some Muslims can be to validate Mohammad as a prophet. They see what they want, without investigating the truth.
The "crack" Taimur wants to believe is proof that the moon split is actually canals created by the flow of lava. No doubt, they will insist the lava flows were caused by the moon splitting. It's to the comical level now.

It is a theory that the moon broke off from the earth while still molten and spinning. It developed it's own orbit around the earth. Science says that the earth is not exactly round but pair shaped because of the moon breaking off, perhaps.
The other theory is all moons were part of the big bang that a super nova exploded and some pieces were big forming planets and some small forming moons.

No, you must be thinking of the planet Tiamat. Scientist have long believed that there is an empty space in our universe where there once was a planet. According to the Sumerian tablets, first known civilization, there is a map carved in stone showing the orbit of a planet called Nebiru. This planet orbits opposite of the planets in our solar system, every 3,600 yrs. According to the tablets the planet came to close to the planet Tiamat and litterally collided with it and the earth and the milky way was created. The latest news about this planet is that Nasa has discovered this planet Nebiru and that it will enter our solar system in 200 to 250 yrs. Far out, and I mean FAR OUT, if true.

NO. The moon formed when a large asteriod hit the protoearth and a large chunk split off. Not fast enough to escape the gravity of the earth, it started orbiting it.

actually, loki wanted a spectacular trick to win the valhalla talent show, so he cut the moon in half. it didn't matter, tho. nobody was going to vote against freya.
he forgot to put it back together that nite. when the race to the moon started between the u.s. and russia, he had to scramble to find the missing half and stick it back together. some people think that's what happened to pluto. you know, they discovered pluto in the thirties, landed on the moon in the sixties, and in the 90's delisted pluto from the roster of planets. pluto was the dark half of the moon all along, or so they say.
