i think there is fruit that is forbidden by any religion

It was the one thing in the Garden of Eden they were told not to touch. They had free reign over everything else. They disobeyed God and were cast out of the garden.

"Popularly, the fruit has been identified as an apple, although the Bible does not identify the fruit as such. Judaism teaches that the fruit may have been either grape, fig, wheat, or citron. In recent years, some researchers are supporting the fact that the forbidden fruit is actually a pomegranate,[citation needed] from the supposed location of the Garden of Eden. Most scholars have said that the type of fruit is not forbidden, only the fruit from the tree God had warned about."

People, you've got to wake up! I don't mean to offend anyone, the fairy tales have to be put to rest.

Use some logic for one second and ask yourselves these questions:
First, if you had a bunch of T.V. dinners in the fridge, and your parent(s) said don't eat my Hungry Man, it surly would not be THAT hard to resist.

Second, why would god say don't eat this fruit? What's so bad about it?

Third, what was so tempting about it? It's just a fruit right? Wrong!
A lot of times God teaches symbolically, what does that mean? Well I'm glad you ask! It wasn't really a tree and it wasn't really a fruit. Make sense yet? Try to hold on, this will get a little graphic, but stay with me. Put bluntly, Adam, Eve, and Satin got passionate together. Eve had twins, one was Adam's (Abel) and one was Satin's (Cain). One was good and one was evil, wonder why?
I'm sorry if I offended anyone, Gods word ALWAYS makes sense, and if of the stories ever seem silly or fairytalish, they probably are. If you want to learn more, http://www.shepherdschapel.com/ and order your free CD or listen to streaming broadcasts.

Because God is fair he gave Adam and Eve a choice, and they chose knowledge over staying in paradise and existing for the pleasure of their Creator.

It cost them dearly because God was probably not finished explaining to them the consequences and they disobeyed Him..If they knew the consequence would they have taken of the fruit, maybe we were created curious, the bible teaches that they were tempted (this may be why we have the people that don't believe in using hydro and still go around with horse and buggy, because knowledge is thought to be a sin).

god had to banish them from Eden and no it was never on this earth..they were cast onto the earth, this does not mean there wasn't already some form of life on earth, the gate was sealed to the other side at that time...and Adam was told that threw the sweat of his brow he would earn what he sewed. Eve was told that birthing a child would be laborious and painful, and the spirit was sent to spend the rest of his days crawling around like the sepent and women would revile it, and men make tales about it.. tell me this didn't happen.

In other words they were real human beings with emotions and choices all their lives, living according to the choices they make and made. sometimes the consequences of our choice in life is good but sometimes when it gets rough we tend to always blame God, why did you let this happen to me, when you did to yourself, just like Adam and Eve chose to know about good and evil, they then had to choose to do good or bad like we still choose today.

the forbidden fruit is knowledge, knowledge of consequence, the difference between good and bad, lawful and unlawful. it was forbidden to the mythical pair so that they would reach for it and gain knowledge of consequence, the consequence of failing to do what you're told to do (or not to do) by an authority figure. it cost them dearly because that is the consequence of disobeying an authority figure. most of the allegory and morality tales in the Bible is a repeat of this lessen ... the dire consequences of disobeying or rebelling against an authority figure. these lesson repeated over and over with all their scary descriptions to what happens to the disobedient has kept priests, popes, kings and governments in business for eons.

Nobody knows what it was, only that it was from the tree of Knowledge. This was on the history channel tonight.

It was forbidden because God said and it cost them because they disobeyed God.

Forbidden fruit is the knowledge of good and bad and the result of choices it also signifies independence. Truth is very hard to digest and its difficult to accept that your condition today is a result of your own choices in past.
Its much easier to stay like a child always dependent on a GOD (or someone else) but growth is a natural cycle and we all grow , get experience and then die.
To me the garden of Eden sounds more like a description of Earth during satya yuga and the description of hell more like Kaliyuga.

“And the LORD God commanded the man, ‘You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.’” If God had not given Adam and Eve the choice, they would have essentially been robots, simply doing what they were programmed to do. God created Adam and Eve to be “free” beings, able to make decisions, able to choose between good and evil. In order for Adam and Eve to truly be “free” – they had to have a choice.

There was nothing essentially evil about the tree or the fruit of the tree. It is unlikely that eating the fruit truly gave Adam and Eve any further knowledge. It was the act of disobedience that opened Adam and Eve’s eyes to evil. Their sin of disobeying God brought sin and evil into the world and into their lives. Eating the fruit, as an act of disobedience against God, was what gave Adam and Eve knowledge of evil. Genesis 3:6-7, “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.”

I was always worried about the censers. Ignorance can newer be bliss. Not knowing is not a good defense, and GOD could not keep us away from knowledge.
He is knowledge, ignorance is the only forbidden fruit. Get the knowledge and be one with HIM.

when ALLAH was creating the first man to step on this earth, PROPHET ADAM(P.B.U.H), angels did express their curiosity in front of ALLAH and asked HIM why are you making this being who will only repeat what the jinns have done(This planet was inhabited by jinns till 2000 years before man was created and they had caused a lot of chaos by indulging in fights and murders). ALLAH said 'YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I KNOW', also HE said, "I AM ABOUT TO MAKE MY VICEROY ON THIS PLANET EARTH." This answer proves that man was always meant to be sent to inhabit earth and not as a punishment for having that fruit that both PROPHET ADAM(P.B.U.H) and EVE(R.A) had, as believed by many. Actually that forbidden fruit was the "DISOBEDIENCE" of ALLAH. When ALLAH had told them not to do something, they were expected to trust the word of their LORD and refrain from falling trap to deception of devil, their greatest enemy. When they had the forbidden fruit, they were asked to leave paradise as an instant punishment but THIS is exactly the misconstrued aspect of the story. When ALLAH always wanted PROPHET ADAM(P.B.U.H) to inhabit earth, why would HE ask them to leave as a punishment? This was because ALLAH wanted them to get a lesson out of this incident and always remember that it was SATAN who got them expelled from the good state they were in. That SATAN would not refrain from coming in their way even in their life on earth and that remembering SATAN as their greatest enemy will prevent them from falling prey to his deceptive traps.
