Not so powerful after all. But the Gods of the Romans did not let them down for a 1000 years when they built the most powerful Empire of all times.

Jesus wasn't a Jew. He was the first Christian.
If he was a good Jew, he wouldn't have been crucified.

They were expulsed from the Holy Land due to their continual sin and unrepentance. The God of the Jews is a God who loves justice.

Now, look at the Romans and their gods. You neglect to mention that the Roman empire is no longer an empire. The gods they trusted in let them down - big time.

Israel, once a former desert, has bloomed for those living there today. After many years (and that's an understatement), the Jews have finally had their nation back together. Israel is once again on the world stage, which I find rather unbelievable (but I believe it), and their language, if I'm correct, is still intact. The language they spoke way back then is the same or almost the same, even today.

Do not mock God. How can you compare Him to the gods of the Romans? Those gods - or rather, idols - were just a bunch of stone and wood. Today, they and the mythology they're featured in are studied in schools and so on, but that's about it. To be honest, they look silly, squabbling among themselves in the myths.

Today, the Roman Empire is gone. The Jews and Israel aren't - they're here. Are you honestly going to mock God's power, and uplift the gods who did nothing (because they couldn't do anything) for those who worshipped them?

God had His plan for Israel. He wasn't going to let His people go unpunished - they sinned, and He is a righteous and holy God. But God has mercy, and much of it. In spite of what the Jews did (over and over again), He still loved them and had great mercy on them. Now they're back. No one can honestly say the same thing about the Roman Empire.

The Jews had a 'contract' with God.
They broke their contract, big time.
They took up worship of pagan gods,
& sacrificed children --LIVE, no less-- to them,
among other things!

They behaved this way repeatedly, until God finally 'divorced' them.

They had worshipped idols and had gotten so far from God spiritually and so they had to go through refining of their characters and faith. they probably asked themselves the same question as u r asking now, it was all planned by God because he wanted them to trust in him and only him completely no matter the circumstances. Dont forget that he also promised to Bring them Back home, which he did:)
That's a Good example for all us christians, we should trust in God no matter what!

All in His time honey, and He has much patience, obviously. The entire plan is much more complex than simple minds can figure out and time is an immeasurable (sp) entity. Whether we understand or not is not the issue, the end result is yet to be seen. It is about faith. Question, yes of course, but question to learn wisdom, not question in self-righteousness or spite.

Jehovah God gave them free will. He didn't make them robots. He wants people to serve Him because they want to not for what He gives them.
This was a challenge satan made to Jehovah God. That people only serve Him because of what He, Jehovah gives them and not out of love.. This challenge can be read in the bible book of Job

You assume that he didn't want them "expulsed".

The reality is that what he wanted is exactly what happened.

The God of Israel is still being worshiped today, whereas the gods of the Romans are long forgotten.

God allowed His people to be taken from the promised land because they were turning to other gods. The cycle of sin and deliverance is interesting and very frustrating. He wanted His people to call on Him and be dependent on His power instead of following other religions.
