Meditation brings the peace to soul and mind, just like prayer does. I am talking about heart felt prayer and not just a babbling of memorized words, and I am not talking about repeating verses from Bible or any book. I am talking about the kind of prayer that you talk to God or to any other saint/spirit/angel you trust. You free your mind, you relax, you surrender yourself to the high power, knowing you are heard and taken care of. You speak from your deepest thoughts and emotion, you ask whatever you want and you show gratitude. You finish your prayer feeling good and in peace, sure that you are in good hands. No guilt, no shame, no pressure, just love!
Meditation is more like keeping your mind empty, your body relaxed, controlled breathing. I kinda do it differently though. I like to sit still and just allow myself to think and question. I just pay attention carefully on the thoughts coming on my mind. Usually answers come to my own questions while I am meditating.
Meditation is good for mind, body and soul.
Peace!

sure, there's a safer thank you to meditate. as a replace of emptying your concepts by utilising repeating nonsensical sounds, with a view to flow into an altered state of information. Meditate by utilising filling your concepts with concepts that are properly worth thinking approximately, and then think of long and deeply approximately them. concepts including: Does the complexity and order of residing organisms provide sensible information for a writer, very corresponding to a complicated portray is information of a painter? Does my being created with a outfitted in ethical compass (ethical experience), lead me to suspect that the eternal, uncreated, first reason would desire to be a ethical being? Which faith(s) seems to coach a writer who's a ethical being? of those religions which one seems to chaffe my ethical experience the main? and so forth.

It depends on what you're meditating on. There are actually two kinds of meditation. One you empty your brain. OOH, thats lots of fun. The other you fill your brain with things that can help you spiritually. I suggest doing the latter.

For me it produces relaxation, draws forth strength and wisdom. If I am feeling weak, need to figure something out or feel stressed I meditate.
I also use meditation to draw forth things I need in my environment such as wellness when I am ill.

Meditation makes us 'unbelong' to our physical self and carries us to the realm of spiritual bliss. Meditation helps us to know our true nature.
