I've seen a couple people on television who seem like real ringers for what it takes to get into Hell. Think politics.
Thankfully, it is not my choice.

I don't think anyone deserves eternal torment. (the mainstream idea of what Hell is) The Bible actually says that hell aka hades is the grave. So, in that respect, we all deserve that. We have all sinned. (The unbelieving will be destroyed, not eternally punished)
The gift is eternal life. It is not a right, but a gift. None of us earned it! Not even one. It is not just about belief though (Even Satan believes Jesus is), it is about accepting that Jesus cared enough to clean us from our sins and living accordingly. To do our best to follow God's rules instead of embracing what God says is evil. Those who don't want to do that, can not have part in eternal life because it would just be bringing sin back into a perfect world.
EDIT: the only reason someone would not be able to believe in God would be if they have never been told about Him. However, even those people are able to look around and realize that someone/something intelligent must have created our world. God will only judge people based on the knowledge they have been given.

not me.
I certainly hope that the majority of people in the world are intelligent enough not to believe in this preposterous nonsense. But who knows? People believe in the dumbest things.
If you took all the Christians who believe that, plus all the people from all the other religions who think that non-believers in their faith are going to hell and/or deserve to go to hell, would it represent the majority of the people on earth? Wow. I would say no. It is just too silly to think that we have made so little progress in our evolution as a species.
I am an optimist.

Well, considering that I don't believe in hell, I can neither believe that someone would go to someplace like it because they don't believe in God. I don't think I represent the majority, but I would like to think I do. Hell, and even the concept of it, suck. The God I worship would never create such a place, much less send anyone there.

Not very many people "can't" believe in God. Those exceptions are people who are mentally challenged, or whoever has never heard of the true God. Mentally challenged people who are incapable of understanding about God are redeemed automatically by the grace of the Atoning Sacrifice of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Those who have never heard the Gospel while they lived on this earth will be given the chance in the spirit world to hear it and accept it. Should they accept it there shall be vicarious ordinances, such as baptism, performed in their behalf on the earth by members of the Lord's true Church. They can either accept or reject this ordinance being performed in their behalf. I know that God is a just God. I also know that He is a merciful God. I know that He loves you very much and wants you to believe in Him that your joy may be full and that you may come to live with Him for eternity in eternal happiness.

guess what??
We ALL make our own descisions!!....by what we choose to do, or not to do. God makes it clear, does He not?
He has laid down all the ground rules. IF we want to have life eternal, then we follow HIM....simple as that!
If we want to just live like the beasts that perish and end up being buried 6 feet under and staying there, then, by all means, live to the self!!! Its your choice!! God never, ever, forces people to love Him, and to choose Him. It has to come from the heart. Some desperately love and earnestly desire to live their lives now and in the kingdom Age, all for the very One who created them and gave them life!!! The they have a part of that eternal future!!! Those who don't care a toot and hoot, for God, but just want their own kingdom NOW, to live for their own idols of self NOW....are already choosing their eternal destination. See? God is so very fair, isn't He? Whatever we want, He will let us have!!! What could be fairer than that???

I can't. I don't have the knowledge of who is going to Hell or not. It's not my job to know who those people are. The only person I have ever told that to was the hubby early in our marriage because well I was young and stupid.

I don't feel know one should go to hell, but some will. I wish we all be ready for the return of the King because it's going to be a terrible way to lose a love one.

Can't or won't?
If you won't believe, then yes, being eternally separated from that which you refused to believe in is appropriate.
I have a hard time figuring out how somebody can't believe in God though. That would mean that somehow, that choice has been taken away from that person. I don't see how that would happen.

What someone deserves or does not deserve is irrevevant with respect to salvation. The point is, salvation is avalable to all who are willing to accept Christ. If a person rejects Him, they reap the consequence of that choice.
