Nausea is a side effect that will go away once your body gets used to the drug.

Effexor will take at least a month to start working.

Also, be aware that effexor has very bad withdrawal symptoms. Make sure to keep taking it as directed. Don't stop taking it suddenly. You will need to slowly taper off of it.

Nausea is another common side effect from Effexor. Some studies have shown that the medication will begin to work sometime around 2 weeks, but that it's maximum effect will not be seen until somewhere between 6-12 weeks (most studies show about 8 weeks for depression, 12 weeks for anxiety). In order to decrease the nausea with Effexor, do not use it until after you've eaten. This seems to improve the nausea associated with antidepressants.

effexor takes four to six weeks to be fully effective, the nausea is probably related to your ongoing anxiety. Hang in there.
