I really need your prayers. I stopped smoking about 4 months ago and tonight I started having cravings.I gave in and have smoked 5 cigs. already in the past couple of hours. I know how harmful it is and also I feel it hinders my relationship with God. I truly need prayers and encouragement .

I thank you for your prayers.

Done. Kicking any addiction must be one of the hardest things we can ever do. When you have seen someone with end-stage lung disease who still smokes, even though one cigarette makes them turn blue and gasp for half an hour and require oxygen and breathing treatments after- that's when you realize what power the cigarette addiction has over the addict's life.
Dear Holy Spirit, please stand strong with this woman, this daughter of yours. Please help her to break the control this thing has over her life, that she may live more fully and serve you better. Please give her the courage and conviction to break loose from this snare that the enemy has set before her. Thy will be done, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
You did it once, you can do it again! Go for it. And there's no shame in using the patch to help you, either, if you think it is appropriate for you. Use the tools you have. And may God bless you.

I know I crave them all the time...I'm being honest here!
But I know I can not go back to them.
After I had my first son I craved them so bad and so I started back....I smoked for three weeks on the last week I went down to two and the third would taste terrible so I tried to tear up the pack but I would put the cig back together but that last day I just quit. And didn't pick up another it has been about 6 years...I dream about them, I think about lighting one up when I am stressed and think they smell great. But I know it would not be a good thing to do......anyways I will pray that the desire will cease and the taste of them will be gross for you.

Also,I pray you have strength and look to God when the thought crosses your mind.

I will pray for you. Hang in there. If you can remember that the desire will pass in a minute or so, It will be easier for you.. It will pass..

Father God, Bend an ear and hear this child of you. Give her strength like only you can. Give her peace Lord, as she struggles with this battle. Hold her firm and don`t let go.

With you all things are possible. She is your child and that makes her special and strong. She just needs to be reminded..

Lord you know her needs. Please take the cravings away and give her rest.. Now, let me say thanks because we know you can do this. You are all powerful and every thing shall bow. We praise you for the blessings that will flow into her life. Lord we love you and thank you in Jesus name. Amen

Hi Jen,
I am glad you are listening to God's Spirit prompting you....you have a conscience about this problem which is a good start! Here is a promise that you can claim....
"My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinth. 12:9
Pray that back to God when you are feeling weak. God has promised you help and God cannot lie. (Titus 1:2)
I have prayed for you to be able to not smoke....not in your strength but with God's strength. Claim that promise and see
what happens.

Dear Lord and father i want to thank you for your many blessings. thank you Lord for making a way when there seem to be no way. Father as i come to you now in the name of Jesus Christ i pray that you will grant me this one request. I ask Father that you will touch the life of Max Gilpin. Father you know what he is going through right now and what can be done to make him well again. I pray that you will send divine healing to him. Touch his mind body and soul and bring him peace just now. Give him the strength to look to you at this time as the author and finisher of his faith. I know Lord that if he puts his trust in you then all will work together for his good. Cover him under you shadows now and speak peace to this situation in the name of Jesus i pray. You've got them! Hang in there, a habit takes 30 days to break. If you can just do it for that long, it will be easier. Stay away from people who smoke. Find a healthy substitute; gum, Mentos, hard candy, etc.

I stopped smoking years ago, had over a pack a day habit. You can do it!

It's ok you cheated. Stop and start over again fresh now.

Take this burden to the Lord. He understands our weaknesses. He will help you. Our failures teach us not to rely on our own strength but on the Lord. Pray fervently to the Lord to deliver you and confess each failure to him. His mercy endures forever and the blood of the Lamb was shed once for all time and eternity. God is therefore faithful and just to forgive us our sins. You are not alone in battling powerful habits. Even though you may not realize it, God loves you with an amazing love. An incredible love. Our fruit of righteous living is from him. A branch doesn't strive to bear fruit, it just does as long as it is attached to the trunk. Walk with Jesus. Man shall not live by food alone but also by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. We need the word of God as much as our bodies need the air we breathe. Now go to the Lord and be honest with him.

I just prayed for you. How about reading the bible everytime you get a craving. Say a quick prayer to ask God to help you gain wisdom from what you are about to read and open it up. Try it.
