I wonder how much the commercialism of the holiday season actually pours into the Electric Companies each year from outside and inside decorations?

All of my holiday lights add up to 90 watts, times 5 hours (6p-11p), times 20 days = 9kwh time our new high rate of 9c per kwh = $.81. I buy up the LED lights at the end of each season and have 21 strings. Without my AC on I only use about 600kwh each month. I really don't blame the power companies too much as they are publicly held companies. But if you follow the path of the money, the more electricity you use, the more money you send to Al Qaeida through Saudi Arabia & the Kuds Force through Iran by demanding more of their oil. So I will stick to my LEDs, my Compact Fluorescents, and my two Hybrids and let those F@#$%rs starve.

Happy Holidays!

All my lights, inside and out, will run on a 15 amp circuit, so a maximum of about 1600 watts per hour from dusk to bedtime.

My central air is much, much less efficient so I would have to say the Electric Company's windfall comes in the summer months.
