Honestly, I was not born as a Christian and even mocked God.

Later when I moved to a Seventh Day Adventist school I still didn't believe in God. Howevver, there was an incident where I lost the term fee reciept so I prayed to God to help me since I can't lose this reciet. I end up not needing that reciept so I convinced myself God was real.

Eventually I got a grip of myself and questioned the religion and finally came to a conclusion that Christianity and every other religion is man-made.

Christians, you should understand that we Atheists do not choose to turn away from God. We are just being honest to our feelings. We can pretend to believe in God but the simple fact is that we just don't.

Believing in God was never a choice my friends.

It is your conscience and feelings that determines your belief.

Atheists don't and can't believe in God since we have common sense and logic in our senses.

Try to understand this Christians.

I do not, nor did not let my emotions dictate my beliefs.
Diligent research shaped my understanding.
By the way, this is the first time I have ever heard an atheist say that they are atheist because of their 'feelings; rather than their intelligence.

OK? I am glad you know who you are. Do you truly believe that only the atheistic beliefs provide common sense and logic? It is common sense to dress warm when it's snowing, right? So Christians go out in a blizzard with shorts? There are also many Christians that get paid high salaries based on their LOGIC! I am sorry if you had had bad experiences with believers in the past, but what you're doing is stereotyping and that, my dear, isn't a trait of someone who possesses much logic and common sense.

I was with you until the crack about common sense and logic. Do you think I'm so stupid I can't see an insult when it's put in front of me? Is it logical to expect a person to have a dialog with you when you make statements like that? Or should I logically conclude that what you posted was just a rant?

Common sense and logic as determined by whom? I don't find much critical thinking done these days. You ever notice the disparity in our beliefs when we want to do something wrong versus when someone wants to do something wrong against us? When we want to do something wrong, we spout how there is no right and wrong. When someone does wrong to us, we cry out how bad and wrong the miscreant is. We judge him as a law breaker, we who say there is no law. Watch yourself and you will see this inconsistency. A new age self proclaimed guru at work used to say there was no right and wrong. Yet when the red necks persecuted him, he was so Judeo-Christian oriented, speaking judgment and hatred. No moral law for what we do, but moral law for what others do to us. Do you notice the disparity? Most likely not. Start paying attention.

Common sense and logic?
HMMMMM, lets test that.
Science says everything created itself, every complex life form from bacteria to blue whales with no intelligent guiding force.
The odds of this happening are beyond the laws of probability
which science has come up with.So science contradicts their own scientific laws.
People who believe in a creator believe in a SPIRIT being that science doesnt have the equipment to test like a lab rat, with greater intelligence than our arrogant atheist scientist and the power to do what HE knows HOW to do.
Both take FAITH with "common sense and logic" taking back seat.

on an analogous time as i can not believe a blanket assertion that maximum atheists comprehend greater approximately Christianity than Christians, i'd agree that some (or many) Christians have faith by utilising faith on my own, and could not see the religious texts in an independent view. From own experience, it form of feels that some Christians are afraid that religious examine of countless religions would desire to alter or shake their faith--so as that they sidestep it. they could additionally sidestep demanding circumstances to their ideals by utilising claiming that their presuppositions of the Bible negate any historic information that would regulate the reality and fact of the texts. i think of that is extremely significant to be properly study and knowledgeable on the history and history of Christianity. If human beings can not cope with the reality of the Bible (to illustrate, pseudoepigraphical texts) then they might would desire to think again their faith in the 1st place.

I do understand that you do not believe for various personal reasons. I accept this although it may puzzle me. However I take offense to the suggestion that we Christians have no "common sense or logic." That my friend is simply you personal opinion. Most Christians just truly care about everyone and want to share that joy that is precious in their own lives. It is of course your life in the end to live as you choose.
Peace Be With You,
Debra

You seem to be saying that Christians do not have common sense or logic in their belief, and this is just not true.
Where is the "common sense" in the belief that everything that exists came from nowhere?
Where is the logic in abiogenisis?
Do you really believe that we crawled out of pond scum and incubated under a pile of dinosaur doo?? (That is quoted from another atheist who answered an earlier question of mine...)

"It is your conscience and feelings that determines your belief."

Feelings have nothing to do with it.

"Atheists don't and can't believe in God since we have common sense and logic in our senses."

You got the first part right, you cannot believe, you do not have the capacity to believe. God gives faith to those who are His, those whom He has chosen out for salvation. He is perfectly fine with allowing you to follow the natural course of your life without His intervention. You will pass into the next world with your sins unforgiven and will face the punishment for that.

Rom 1:21 Because knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful. But they became vain in their reasonings, and their undiscerning heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22 Professing to be wise, they became foolish
Rom 1:23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into a likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.
Rom 1:24 Because of this, God gave them up to impurity in the lusts of their hearts, their bodies to be dishonored among themselves,
Rom 1:25 who changed the truth of God into the lie, and worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

You simply have underdeveloped spirit. It is probably not your fault. You simply did not have anyone show you the way. That's too bad.

We Christians do understand exactly what you are saying. We really do. It's just that we go beyond that first step of spirituality. You are just at the beginning, not the end.

We pray for you.

Peace.
