How can someone be good to marry but not good to date? Wouldn't the whole point of dating someone be to find out if this person would be good to marry? If a girl wanted to be with someone for any other reason wouldn't that not be dating? I don't understand why girls have been telling me this for over 10 years now to avoid dating me.

it means you are probably a very nice responsible but maybe slightly nerdy-ish or boring guy and she is too shallow to see all the good things about you. most girls like dating bad boys...idk why? i sure don't.

Listen up. As a man who was raised around a bunch of women and girls I can easily answer this question. You seem like the nice guy. A lot of girls and young women like the bad boys. They want someone who is mysterious, adventuresome or one that they can change into a good man. Sadly most women who go for these types often get hurt themselves both emotionally and physically.
In an ideal world for women, they want the bad boy to be the lover and the good guy to be the nurturing husband. It is when they get older that they figure out that they can't have both. One must understand that women don't tend to think logically about love like we men do. There is nothing wrong with being the nice guy. If you learn to be charming and romantic towards women, then you are miles ahead of the rest of the men in this world.

Unfortunately it means that you are boring and dependable. You probably have a job. You probably call when you say you will. Yes, all us girls SAY we want this, but when we're young, we want young, hot, stupid, dangerous guys who MIGHT give us a call after we sleep with them. We enjoy the chase, too. I don't know how old you are, but my predictions are that when these girls grow up a little, you'll have a bunch of them saying "you were right in front of me the whole time"! Give it time, don't change a thing, and when the right one comes along, you won't be boring to her at all, you'll be the one she'll want to marry :)

It is so funny that you ask that because the whole "good guy to marry but not to date" makes no sense to you BUT it makes perfect sense to all girls! I think what you need to realize is that you are putting off a really safe/sweet vibe. Girls want a guy who are spontanious and a challenge. When they meet extremely nice guys, they tend to not want to date them in their younger years. But they see the guy as being a wonderful husband because he is so sweet and caring. Its all bullsh*t if you ask me, I'm really glad I'm a girl because guys either want you or they dont. They don't feed us bullsh*t lines like us girls feed you. Okay, she doesn't want you now so move onto the next girl. And maybe you'll meet a girl like me who actually likes sweet, caring, and mature people to keep my asss grounded! either they're just looking for an excuse to get out of it, or most likely she just wants someone that's hot and exciting and more dangerous... will probably treat her like crap, but it's more for the experience... at least thats how it was for me, but now im done with that phase and im engaged to a man that is absolutely nothing like any of the other guys that ive dated.... i think its kind of a process

if you are over 18 i would suggest you get a kinkier sex life and stop being their best friend and the most polite guy on the planet. Be a nice guy just be a bit more aloof.

Sounds as if they just don't want to hurt your ego, so they throw you that little bone to assuage your feelings. It's a little dishonest for them to do that, but what can you do? Women can be that way sometimes. Sorry.

LOL ouch , they mean you are boring and predictable ,and right now they want to go out get hammered and screw every guy who is hot. then when they are all loose and nasty they will come back to you and expect you to pay for them , and give them a secure life , to were they can go shoe shopping with your money , and bang the lawn mower in your bed when your at work.
