probably not. then why do people thank 'god' when they are cured of a disease, without acknowledging that god is obviously the cause of said disease?

For the same reason that convicted criminals thank the governor when he pardons them and lets them out of jail early even though they could say that if it wasn't for the state and the police they wouldn't be in prison.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

edit: so the governor put the innocent man in jail with no comission of crime?

No, just like no one here on earth is innocent of breaking God's laws.

Question for Martin S: ((state convicts - state pardons))

so you're saying that people with diseases have been punished by god? what about the children born with disabilities? What did they do to god?? What happens when god doesnt "pardon" these innocent children??

Actually, I read your title question in the forum and had already answered "yes."

I see where you are going with the details, but I have to say I would thank him. It's just the type of person I am.
