Should drug companies be allowed to advertise prescription drugs on television, radio, or magazines? Don't we have enough hypochondriacs in the world as it is?

As a medical professional, I do not see much benefit from advertising prescription drugs on the behalf of the patient's side. Advertising just adds cost to the drug producers and in return will add cost to the already COSTLY advertised prescription drugs. Besides, doctor's prescribing the drugs has more influence on what drug to prescribe.

As my answer to your question..NO. Except if there is a dire need for public to know special information on certain new drugs that needs public dissemination.
