I'm 17, and I seem to develop crushes on men that are older than me.
From other answers on this website, it seems like that is normal, but I have a twist to put on this question--

It's not just that I develop crushes on older men, but I seem to develop crushes on men that are authority figures in my life.
Right now, I have huge crushes on two of my sports coaches, and one of my teachers.
I try to control myself, but it's so hard not to flirt with them, because they mostly flirt back.

Any ideas on how I can stop myself from flirting or developing crushes on them in the first place?

Omg I know. I had a crush on two teachers when I was in school. They were hot and in their twenties! I really didn't know how to stop it lol. I just had to keep telling myself not to like them because they were too old for me and if anyone found out that would be bad. So try and keep it to yourself. Dang now I'm thinking about them haha!

I don't know if there is a way you can radically train your brain to NOT attract yourself to older men. Most young women like yourself who are attracted to older men do so for a variety of reasons. You see the maturity and stability an older man can provide versus that from a man your age. You probably had a very good relationship with your father and you look to a man who can be father figure or someone who is nurturing by nature.

The only thing I can tell you that you can try to do is stay away from the older guys and hang around younger men in your age range. Do some of the things that is age appropriate. Then again, you might be well mature for a young woman of 17 and may not fit in.

Dearest Wonder
Wow that's so cute and i am one of the type of guys you are talking about. I coach soccer and allot of the girls flirt with me and i do back. I have gotten love notes , pantie notes, notes left on my car with telephone numbers and lip stick kisses. I see them at the best and worst and most of the time i keep it safe. But there are a few that i might of crossed the line with. You cant stop the feelings because it happens, and what you choose to do you have to live with. So good luck and keep up the happiness flirting don't hurt.

i think that you like them bc they are there for you and give you encouragement that you don't get from other males in your life. it's just normal i think, bc i had had crushes on older authoritive people. as far as advice, just don't do it, especially if they are married. if they are kinda young, still don't do stuff that will make you want to flirt with them. you're still a minor and they could get into a lot of trouble. just be careful. actually just don't act on your instincts and desires and don't tell them that you like them. it will effect your relationship. you're not alone in this, trust me, doing nothing is better.

not "weird and wonderful," surely very uncomplicated. My step-daughter's 14 year previous buddy replaced into desperate to be the destiny Mrs. David Bowie (i comprehend). And from seventh-twelfth grade, a woman in my classification replaced into head over heels for our music instructor. Teenage females used to flow nuts over the Beatles, in the previous them it replaced into Frank Sinatra, and one hundred years in the previous him it replaced into the composer and pianist Franz Liszt. i think of it has to do with the risk-free practices that comes from understanding deep interior that not something will ever come of the celeb weigh down, so which you could not be harm. purely mocked.
