What age do you think a child should stop showering with her parents? I'm not a fan of it ever. Just wondering your opinion.

I would say about 3 yrs... The thing is... kids like baths. . . I know that it's easy to take the kid in the shower with you and wash up if it's getting late. .it'll save on time.. .but 3 or 4 it starting to get too old... If they are in pre-school and or daycare, they might think it's ok to show "parts" to other kids or asking to see theirs. (kind of thinking 'mommy has boobs, do you?)

Don't start if you don't have to.

My daughter is 2 1/2 and likes to shower with me once in awhile. Sometimes she wants to shower with my husband too, but he puts on swim trunks. I think I'll let her shower with me for another year or 2.

When my kids are old enough to bathe themselves unsupervised... I might as well clean myself at the same time if I am sitting there making sure they don't get soap in their eyes, that they scrub all the right parts and are not drowning. That takes forever. Why not kill two birds with one stone.

My family is from Finland... so being naked in front of your kids before they hit puberty was not something that was viewed as strange in our home.

I know a mother with two daughters, 11 and 15, that still bathes with both of them.
As long as it's the same sex, and the kids are comfortable, I think it's fine.

We stopped letting our children shower with us at 3. That just seems to be when they become more aware of their bodies. No need to confuse them.

My daughter is four and I still shower with her. My hubby does with his swim trunks on. I doubt I will stop unless she is uncomforable with it. We are the same sex after all.
