Lets look at this real quick. He got paid the 30 silver but didn't really get much time to spend it. He was Jesus' right hand so who better than him would Jesus turn to help turn himself in. Yeah he questioned somethings but you can question and still have faith. Or at least thats what I've been told.

Judas was framed.

Some have argued that since the disciples thought Jesus was setting up an Earthly kingdom right away Judas Iscariot was only trying to speed that up. On the other hand we are told that Judas was dipping into the group's money for himself. What was his real intent with the betrayal? I think that's a question only God can answer.

As for your unasked question: Didn't a disciple (or more than one) say: "I believe, help my unbelief"? The Bible also talks about salvation as an ongoing thing - not complete as long as we remain here and in this form.

Uh, no. Judas was never that close to Christ. He was not in the inner circle (James, John and Peter) and I believe the only communication between them were words of castigation by Christ. Jesus knew He would be the betrayer from the beginning.

Joh 6:70 Jesus answered them, Did I not choose you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!
Joh 6:71 But He spoke of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, for this one was about to betray Him, being one of the Twelve.

Yes! The Romans who got hold of Jesus are dumb and corrupt that collaborates with the Jews... got Judas bum rapped but not by Romans but by Pharisees of the Jews.

Just wondering of how much would the Romans have received to take actions in looking for Jesus!

Judas loved Jesus but he may have been a frustrated extremest who wanted Jesus to exert his authority as the powerful messiah of the Jews. One who had the power to vanquish the Romans and rid them of the strangle hold Rome exerted over them. He may have been attempting to force Jesus to act. Obviously it didn't work. He became so remorseful over his actions and the results that he committed suicide. There is no way for us to know what Judas' motivation was, we can only speculate.

I don't think Judas got a bum rap. Questioning is fine, but it is not cool to turn your friend in to those who will kill him (unless he did something really bad, like killing a bus full of orphans). He deserved what he got for basically murdering his best friend.

I think new evidence recently came to light that Judas and Christ staged the whole thing and that they were co-conspirators, which pretty much exculpates him from any guilt.

Having said that, anyone who still thinks that Judas was an asshole is probably being way too hard on the poor guy.

yeah I think he did. You see the Jesus death was worked out ahead of time by God and Judas was just a convenient player in this mix. Refer back to the book of Job and see what other games the Jewish God plays.

I believe he did get a "bum rap"....
Of course, I've been lambasted about my portrayal of Judas in my book, "The Book of Barabbas"...
