It comes standard with the KJV with Strong's Numbers so that when you run your mouse pointer over the number the definition of the Greek or Hebrew original text comes up.

Anytime you read man's comments in S.S. literature, or other published material, you should be sensitive to how it lines up with scripture. That's just a good rule all the time, whatever the church, etc. If you just study the Bible, with no study guides, I would think you're getting the purest form of teaching and there would be nothing really bad from this. Study with prayer, so the Holy Spirit will open the meaning up to you. You may not understand everything (which is normal) but you will understand what the Holy Spirit wants to reveal to you. I'm wondering what denomination won't let you read outside literature? Most main-line denominations encourage it with some exceptions.

I became best acquainted with the KJV Bible by getting to know ever bible person and his time period, Matt.1:1-17; The genealogy of Jesus. Heb.1:1-40;
All the people of interest Acts 7:1-60; 1Chr.3:9-17 [ Ruth 4:18-22; the king line and all about David ];
1Chr.6:1-15; the priest line. From Abraham to generation four [ Gen.15:13,16; Exo.6:16-23 ]; is Abraham 430 years before Moses at Exodus [ Exo.7:7]; Isaac born when Abraham was age 100 Gen.21:5; died at age 180, Gen.35:28,29; Jacob age 130, in Rameses Egypt Gen.47:9,11; with 70 in family Gen.46:27; 215 years after Abraham has the promised Land covenant,
So it is another 215 years to Moses and heirs get the law Gal.3:16-18; and in 40 years, Moses is age 120 to die, year 2553, 897 years after flood and 1513 B. C. 3520 years ago. At 2007 after Christ we have had the bible in the world 396 years. Joshua ends 40 years 14th day New Year over Jordan.
Josh.5:6,10,12; year 2554, 898 years after flood, 1512 before Christ.
Judges 11:26; 300 years is year 2854, 1198 years after flood, 1212 B. C.
This is what I love about the bible, it is taking us down to the 1st and onto the 2nd coming of Christ, to no Satan and this world ends, but the world with Jesus is without end and he makes all as perfect as it was meant to be.
We will see these people that we are getting acquainted with Matt.8:11; they will be in the kingdom with under Jesus.

Hi! Here is a link to a very good course for studying the Bible. Go to this link, and then on the left hand side, scroll to the course called "Creative Bible Study Methods." It is a free download, and uses the King James Version.

The Strong's Cor dance Bible is a help tool teaching in the Greek, Arabic, and Hebrew language that it was written through the years on. It will help you translate the language. Its been good for many people with bible study. You may also want to look up a local church and see if they have outside bible study for those who are busy during the day.

Why the KJV only? It is based on inferior Greek manuscripts and written in archaic English.
N.T. Wright has some good books that go through entire books of the Bible, like the gospels.

"Jesus!!!" He is the guiding light of reading the Bible... even what ever it takes, he is "the way, the truth and the life..", and is good on first settings... and even to the latest reading, where faith can be muddled from the set ups, hatred, guilt, and grafts... but knowing who among who upon the words that was spoken and actions being done in their time... is enlightening.
