ON THE BEAT is an idiot. The government didn't ban Winston from sponsoring the sport. Winston choose to leave the sport due to financial concerns. To the person who asked this, seeing as how you can ask questions on here, why didn't you just look at Nascar.com or Yahoo Sports? Seems it would have been much faster and wouldn't have stupid answers like ON THE BEAT's answer.

Nobody won the Winston cup today--The All time Winston cuo Champs are Richard Petty and Dale Sr. they will never be caught as the Points system is restructured now. Jimmie Johnson won the Nextel Cup. Next Year it will be the Sprint Cup!!!!

Its not Winston Cup any longer Jimmie Johnson won the last Nextel Cup Championship today...Next yr its the Sprint Cup...only time will tell, Jimmie Could 3-peat, Jeff could drive for 5,or Dale Jr could get his 1st...yep looking forward to 2008..
