There are so many theories being bounced around as to why. It's true that girls are maturing earlier then ever before. Everything from stressful homes being the trigger to the hormones pumped into today's foods...meat, fish, milk, and all the chemicals and preservatives in food. I think both have a lot to do with it. It's almost impossible to go all natural with today's foods and organic is so expensive. When it comes to meat, chicken, eggs and milk, we try to buy organic. The more you look into the facts the more shocking it seems. But I think it comes down to a persons environment, their diet, activity level, stress levels, and even exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals that are actually mimicking hormones found in some common consumer products such as plastics and even in pesticides that we use in some of our foods.

This is important because there are health risks. Early puberty seems to be a rick factor for breast cancer in adults and girls who are going through early puberty seem to have a higher rate of depression. There are some things that seem to help but more studies need to be done. Reports of breastfeeding seems to give some protection.

Keep your kids active and give them quality foods from home and limit school lunches (they are practicly fast food). As to why? Your guess is as good as mine.

Puberty hits different people at different times. Some start early, some start late. "Experts" determine what is the "normal" time for puberty to begin. Your body just decided you were ready ahead of your friends. Nothing can be done about it so I wouldnt worry.

your hormonal levels were off balanced when they are off sometimes you are over weight. If you are underweight you start late. but this is not always the case. my friend Marinna still has not had her period and she is almost 13. and she is not underweight at all.
