Atheism, by definition, is the lack of belief in a god. Any god.
It's not the rejection of god because you are angry with him, and have decided to side with the devil instead, it's not believing that god exists.
Along with not believing in god, comes not believing in all the stories, beliefs, and other stuff that comes with religion. That includes the devil.
While atheists tend to follow science, doing so does not make you an atheist. The title is solely do to with non-belief.

I believe in God but not the devil. I see the term atheist being used way to much. Very little of the population is atheist. It may be because they do not worry about what happens to them after they die, they would rather live life to experience it and not to follow through the politics of a church. Many people believe in a God or a higher power.

Of course we don't. The devil, like your gawd, is fantasy created by a bunch of really superstitious people. The main idea is that for there to be ultimate good, there must be ultimate evil since that would place a balance on the world. Ancient people were big believers in binary pairs so you see this all over mythology.
As to what we believe, well it's a lack of belief in gawd. The rest of it is up to the individual in question.

Atheists simply don't believe in a deity. Some Atheists believe that science has all the answers, some simply don't need answers. The Devil, gods, angels and all that crap do not exist in my eyes. It's not a hard concept.

no... there cannot be an absolute evil without an absolute good
that would be like a ying... but no yang. doesnt work that way
i dont believe in an all powerful deity that really cares what we are doing. if he did.... he would show up now...when we can see it and know... not 2000 years ago when we were just short of cavemen to an intellectual degree.
most of my beliefs are scientific... but there is an energy shared between people,... just like when you walk into a room and feel tension ... or walk in and feel comfort from the people.
that doesnt mean i think its a god thing.... i just think there are energies between all people. so not all scientific..... but as far as religion goes... i dont think there is a fight going on....for you to choose...and the two sides....see who will win first

true the percentage of atheists is higher the greater the intelligence and that is reflected in scientific accomplishment but I for one would assume the same can apply to gods devil as applies to god ....,Disbelief! It's not so much a matter of faith but facts. however true some atheist are far removed from science and still seem to find their way to the truth.

People that do not acknowle HIM are doomed and going to hell. I once heard that most people will believe anything: Tell a man a bench has wet paint and he'll believe you and not sit down. Tell him the sky is blue and he'll look up to make sure.
An atheist was walking through the woods. "What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!" he said to himself.
As he was walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly charging towards him.
He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder and saw that the bear was closing up on him. He looked over his shoulder again and saw that the bear was even closer.
Then he tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up, but saw the bear right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw and raising his right paw to strike him. At that instant the atheist cried: "Oh my God! . . . "
Time stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent. As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came from the sky saying:
"You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist, and even credit creation to a cosmic accident. Do you expect Me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?"
The atheist looked directly into the light. "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps could you make the bear a Christian?"
"Very well," said the voice.
The light went out. The sound of the forest resumed. And then the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head, and spoke: "Lord, bless this food which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord. Amen."

You really don't know?
Atheists believe that there is no evidence to support the existence of deities or the supernatural and thus refuse to be taken in by dogma or theocracy.
What are atheists beliefs? We believe in ourselves, ultimately, if there is no one above you, dictating the events of your life, you are responsible for everything you do and everything that is done to you, thus action and reaction is your own responsibility.
When you talk about atheist beliefs you are virtually contradicting yourself. We don't really have beliefs because what we use is evidence and fact, we choose not to use theology, dogma and conjecture.

That's right. Atheists don't believe in any devils.
Most atheists I've met don't have religious beliefs, period. Most simply lack belief in anything "supernatural."

Of course things are evil. We have a conscience. You don't need religion to tell you good from evil, you just need to not be a sociopath.
