Do I have to call the other number on the invite?
I left a message on the number I called.
What the hell, man?
This RSVP stuff is a lot or work.
I'm too used to crashing parties.

When you call to rsvp you should always call the number provided on the invitation. There could be very specific reasons why they do not want you to call the "personal phone number" that you already have. Maybe they are low on cell minutes, they want to keep the party a surprise from someone else who has access to that certain phone etc.

You should NEVER "crash" a party. RSVPing is not a lot of work... planning a party is. If you ever decline a party invitation or do not rsvp and then later find you can go, you should call the host/hostess immediately, let them know your plans have changed, and see if they are able to accomodate you. Don't just show up unannounced.

I think you probably don't have to call the number on the invite as long as you know that phone number belongs to the same person. Sometimes the person who is receiving RSVPs is not the same person who is hosting the party or the special guest, in which case you should call the number on the invitation.

The person throwing the party deserves to know how many are going to attend. The number on the invite was there for a reason. Call it and state whether you are attending or not.
