The only thing that is necessary for Salvation is that you except Jesus into your heart as your Savior. Now here is where it gets tricky, in short. If you really have excepted and love Jesus then you will want to do as he says. He says that we should not forsake the gathering of ourselves. Meaning we should go to church. So If you have truly excepted Jesus then you should want to go to church. it is however not necessary for salvation.

"No !! The thief on the cross never went to church. But it is a place that we gather to fellowship with one another ,and the Bible says that we are not to forsake ourselves from the assembly of the saints as we see the day approaching. And you know the old saying "Birds for a feather flock together'' Best Wishes>>

Not at all, following Christ is the requirement. I do recommend going to a church for encouragement and to garner advice from other Christians though, since they can be a great help.

I totally agree with "MICHAELJTERRY" ...
It is not necessary for salvation...however as a result of salvation... the H.S. dwelling within you is going to give you a strong yearning to fellowship with other believers just as J.C. told us to.

I dont think that you need to go to Church to reach salvation, but I think that it is helpful and that you really should. You should be surrounded by people who share your faith.

nope only your faith in Jesus Christ saves you nothing else you do can earn you a spot in heaven. God doesn't owe anybody anything that includes salvation so he gives us salvation as a gift, it can't be earned by doing anything more than having faith in Jesus.

Brethren,

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
