-The basic of Islam is that G-d has no son while the basic of Christianity is that G-d has a son.
-Muslims pray to G-d while Christians pray to a human.
-Islam bans so many things while christianity barely bans anything.
How are these similar?

Well both believe in one God to begin with.
Both believe in Jesus, but just in different ways.
Both believe in Moses, abraham etc
Both place emphasis in certain sins eg sex before marriage, adultery, homosexuality etc.
They're more similar than for example christianity with hinduism (I think, not that I know anything about hinduism)

But I see what you mean. I would say they are similar but at the same time different.

Christianity and Islam are very similar, in my opinion, and I'd say Christianity is by far the more dangerous of the two. Christianity has created huge amounts of suffering by starting wars, crusades, inquisitions, pogroms, carrying out the Holocaust, causing guilt over sexual and familial relationships, than anything Islam has come close to. Islam makes it abundantly clear that they want to convert people and destroy the Jews; Christians say they "love" the Jews, but then create organizations to convert them (such as the Baptists' "Jews for Jesus") in an attempt to effectively wipe out the Jewish faith, which they would do if they could.

Give me an honest Muslim any day - even thought I disagree with him - over a deceitful and hypocritical Christian.

The historical interaction between Christianity and Islam, in the field of comparative religion, connects fundamental ideas in Christianity with similar ones in Islam. Islam and Christianity share their origins in the Abrahamic tradition though Christianity predates Islam by six centuries. Islam accepts many aspects of Christianity as part of its faith - with some differences in interpretation, and rejects other aspects. Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are often collectively referred to as the Abrahamic religions.

They are similar, Judaism Christianity and Islam all come from the same traditions and from the same part of the world...they have simply gone off on their own tangents but they share many similarities. As thin lizzy above says, the fundamentalists from each religion are becoming almost indistinguishable especially in their aggressive politicking.
Both present a false explanation of the world as fact.

The same way Jews and Christians are similar. It's just stacking new books upon old books to make a newer religion. Jews have the Torah, Christians added the New Testament to it to make the Bible, and Muslims added more books to make the Qur'an.

i think they are very different, its so hard to explain about christianity cuz there are so many denominations but still get put in one and they all pay for the mistakes of another, but anyways i think that the main difference is that islam teaches to get rid of temptation by any means possible and christianity teaches to avoid them by having a close relationship with God.

Why make so many restrictions? Allah loves all creatures, and It does not limit us. We are the ones who confine ourselves to perceived genders and perceived gender roles. We must liberate our minds, as our Dear Prophet (PBUI), did. Love everyone, and we will all be free Muslims together.

Because people like to subscribe to the idea that Ghandi put forward, that all gods are just different manifestations of the one god...

I don't think they are similar at all. I think they are very separate religions with very different views about God. Christians don't pray to humans, we pray to Jesus, who is God.
