How could I mount my snowboard boots onto my skiboards? Has anyone ever done this?

Yes, I am aware I can hurt my ankle.

While this technically can be done, it is really not advisable.

To do this you need some tools. Since no jigs exist for snowboard bindings to fit on skis/snowblades/skiboards etc., you will need to measure the placement of your bindings exactly.

I've tried to mount ski bindings to skis w/o a jig...it is not easy and unless you have a lot of patience, you'll screw it up.

Step#1: Find the balance point of the skiboard. You need something to balance the ski on, like a shelf bracket mounted toa work bench. Then, mark the center point with a sharpie. You have to balance both ski boards, and then whichever one is slightly closer to the tip should be the one measurement you use for BOTH skis.

Step #2: Place the snowboard binding over the center of the line on the skiboard. Use something to hold the binding in place, like some small bits of duct tape, gum, anything, and use the sharpie to mark where you will drill the binding holes. Repeat on the second skiboard.

Step #3: Carefully drill. Make sure you have the right diameter bit and do not drill into the skiboard too deep otherwise you may drill through the base. Drill each hole ONLY after you have measured and marked the drill spots.

Step #4: Use some wood glue in each hole.

Step #5: Screw in the snowboard bindings. UNLIKE snowboards that have many settings to mount and re-mount, once these are on it will be a bugger to get back out.

Step #6: Let the glue dry at least 24 hours.

This should work provided the bindings will actually fit the width of the boards.

Good Luck. Hope you don't break anything.

I have done it. It is not advisable. There is in no way near enough support to keep you from falling forward. Edging is also very challenging. It was funny and will not be trying it again. If you have hard snowboard boots (alpine carving / racing boots) then sure, they work great.
