A dispute is worth a try. There are several reasons for a dispute and it would take to long to post them here, but I have done this myself! Go to my website and read it all. I had to go through credit repair after a bankruptcy and a case of ID theft!

I contested and challenged several items in my credit reports and got most of them removed and I explain how to go about this in my website! Read the "rebuilding credit" section for an explanation of reasons to have items removed from your credit report!
